Question about IBM ThinkPad T42 Notebook
T60p will not recognise the hard drive- when trying to install windows 32bit the setup gets to a point and then states it cannot find the hard disk, i canged this over with a HDD with MS 32bit XP it got as far as the log in screen then froze? any ideas?
If you are trying to install XP on (what i assume to be) a new computer, your XP install CD does not have the SATAcontroller drivers built in.
you need to go to the vendors homepage and see if there are drivers available for the controller for XP. sometimes in the cases where the computer comes with Vista there will not be any xp controller drivers available at all.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
