Question about Gaggia Classic Espresso Machine

Coffee is coming out with out form, believe to be build up of scale. Also, was told to replace the gasket....how do I do that?

I recently took my machine to a company to have it looked at. I was told that I need to replace the gasket...I don't see this in the manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know how to open the shower gasket, but how do I get to the other gaskets, the small ones. I have the replacement gaskets but need instructions on how to open the top of the machine to access the other gaskets.

No water coming down to cups

Assuming that you are certain that there is no scale blocking the brew head and that the pump is running normally, try making a cup with no filter cup installed into the filter handle (obviously with no coffee grounds either) but with the handle installed into the machine

If water now flows, your problem is a blocked filter in the floor of the filter cup, and the easiest and most reliable way to fix that is to purchase a replacement filter cup :o)

Check also that the filter handle's outlet holes are not blocked. The tar like gunk that builds up in the filters and handles can be quite hard to remove

I need to get rid of hard water scales inside the dishwasher

One of the safest and least expensive ways to remove scale is to run the EMPTY dishwasher through a cycle using 1/2 cup of white vinegar. If all the scale is not removed during one cycle, then repeat the process.
I hope this gets rid of your problem. If it does, please come back to fixya and rate my solution!

My Saeco Vienna Digital has been really great (constant use since 2005), but now it is leaking water, and sometimes only half a cup comes out. I think there is an O ring that needs to be replaces (orange,...

Hi
The O-rings are made of silicone and usually don't wear out. The usual cause is the boiler gasket. Heer is a picture of what to look for. The white in the center of the boiler is scale (calcium) that builds up on the center portion of the boiler. It will build up enough to let the gasket not seal and the boiler leaks. The other thing is if you descale hot. The descaler will turn the gasket brittle and it won't seal. The last thing is not descaling enough. Everybody thinks their water is good and don't need to descale. WRONG. I have great water but I descale every 3-4 months depending on how many coffees I have done. The machine will tell me and I descale. My machine is a Italia Digital and I make 10 - 12 coffees a day. It is now going on 8 years. Still has the same boiler. Descale more often than not enough and your machine will last a long time.bansheracer_6.jpg

The steam on my Royal Pro has been getting weaker over a period of time, I do still use it but its takes a little longer to froth. I don't think its a scale issue as I'm in Australia & nothing else...

The problem could be the building up of scales in the lines and boiler. It should be descaled after about 800 coffees been made.Is it water coming out of the steam arm freely? If water comes out good and the steam is weak means blockage in steam boiler and the lines.
If coffee comes out well means the pump is still good. You can replace the pump quite easily by yourself but make sure steam boiler and the tubes are cleaned.
Have a good day.

Antifreeze leaking from the front of the car , by where the wheels are. Why is this happening?

Had same recent problem. Leaking anti-freeze near passenger-side under engine. Inspect all hose connections and area around water pump and did not find source of leak. Took car to dealer and they checked and told me it was leaking from timing cover gasket and head gasket. I found the head gasket hard to believe so I went to a trusted mechanic and he did a dye test that found the leak was in fact the timing cover gasket.

Dishwasher is leaking out of the front right bottom corner. It spurts out while it is running. I took the front panel off and could see that where it is coming from but dont know why it is all of a sudden...

most of the time when it leaks from the front door it is going to be from a corner. most every time the front door gasket is replaced to solve the problem. I have found that the gasket on my dishwasher last about 2 years before needing replaced. I clean the white hard scale that builds up on gasket frequently

Dualit expresso 889 - faulty pump??

Actually solved this myself today. It actually was a buildup of scale as I tried a standard descaling sachet, followed the instructions and once enough scale had come out it burst back into life!!!

If you get 'any' flow at all the pump's fine so it just needs a really good cleanout - even if (like me) you think your local water doesn't tend to scale up your kettle.

Coffe first pot is hot after that they are cold

This can be caused by scale build-up on the thermostat probe that hangs inside the tank. The scale stays hot for a long time, tricking the thermostat into believing that the water is still hot. Try pouring 1 Qt white vinigar into the unit, let it warm up completely, run a pot of clear water thhrough the machine, then turn the unit upside down over a sink (making sure it's unplugged first, and always keeping the fill hole down at all times) to let it drain out all the way. Then before you plug it back in, pour water through the machine until water comes out the sprayhead. Then plug it in, let it heat up, pour 2 pots of water through the machine & see if it heats up properly. If this doesn't cure your problem, your unit may need to be completely dismantled to de-scale the tank & thermostat probe.

Saeko Italia - Water flow is very slow

We repeated the de-scaling and it seems to have taken care of the problem.  (at least for now!) Maybe there was a build up that the first cycle did not remove but the second cycle got it.  Don't know for sure just glad it's working!
