Was working ok, now cannot get online using belkin modem-router. Says I am connected to my network, "signal strength excellent" but no wireless connection. Using the Belkin Modem router I am unable to access the internet with any computer on the network, but can through a mobile connection. Please help... I am a true computer novice.

Please try to reset your router.

on the back of the router there is a little hole where you can insert a pen or a paperclip. hold it pressed in for 30 seconds and then release.

wait 10 minutes and try to connect to internett again (after connecting to the wireless net ofc)

Hello,
The router is designed in such a that it is compatible with all the computers. The best way to get rid of this issue is log into the router interface and change the wireless channel to suit your requirement.
1) To begin with.. Open internet explorer on a computer connected to the router and delete everything from the address bar and type http://192.168.2.1 and hit enter. Now you will be in the Belkin Router setup. It will ask for a login password when you click on anything.. Leave the password field blank and click on submit. 2) Towards the left side under wireless click on "Channel and SSID". Now you see wireless channel change it to different channel and click on "OK / Save". Now check the signal strength in your Acer computer. If its still the same try different channel and check.

My icon says I only have 80% signal strength, is


80% is a good signal strength....but if you want to increase the signal strength, then you need to move the wireless router to a very ventilated area, also the router should be placed atleast 5 feet away from other electronic devices like, modem, ups, microwave ovens,refrigerators etc.... also there should be a line of sight between the router and the wi-fi adapter... but in order to connect to a wireless network 25% of signal strength is enough....

Can't get online, even though computer says connected


As the router is working and connected to the internet - then its probably and issue with the wireless setup on router or your PC

1) remove any wireless profiles on your PC read here - how to do that http://mgmcc.forumotion.net/networking-tutorials-f17/removing-an-existing-wireless-profile-t109.htm then when reconnect it will ask for the key again 2) A firewall maybe blocking your access - disable any firewalls 3) Remove the wireless security if enabled in the router and see if you can connect - if this is the only wireless device connecting - it may interference try also changing the wireless channel in the router - use 1 or 6 or 11

Cannot connect to the router


Right click the network icon in the system tray. Click "repair."

If that doesn't work.Power off netbook, router, modem...
Turn on router. Then Modem. Then netbook in that order waiting 1 minute interval between each.

Everything should be functioning ok.

Have wireless signal but no IP


Starting from the obvious, check that the cables are installed correctly.
You have to have a cable that brings the internet to your place.
Connect that cable into the router's jack labeled Connection to Modem.
Then get another network cable and plug it into any other jack form the back of your wireless router, and the other end into your laptop, just to make sure you are getting connected.
Once you are sure you can surf the net, unplug the wire from your laptop, and you should be able to surf wirelessly.

Belkin wireless problem


If you are connected straight from the modem, your router will not have internet access, only if your modem is connected to the router you will be able to go online wireless. connect your modem to the router nad router to the desktop, so that you can access both wired and wireless connection

I can connect to the internet with cable connection to Belkin Modem with wireless G router but when I unplug and try to connect with wireless G network adapter no joy, get an error message 797 no reply...


Go into control panel-intenet options-connections-lan settings-make sure the only box selected is the top one for automatically detect settings.and make sure you have connected with the wep key that came with your wireless router.

Belkin Mimo Router


If you're connected to the router with excellent stregth then the problem most likly lies in the routers connection to the internet. Check your DSL, Cable modem and make sure the connection to the "Internet" port on your router is good. Try switching out the Ethernet cable if nessciary.
