If you are trying to install vista, i suggest you to delete all the partitions and recreate the partition and that should resolve. If this is not resolving, please get back to me with the info what is happening while installing.

I need to reboot windows xp on my toshiba satellite laptop

The Toshiba Satellite A10-S169 includes several utilities to improve the performance or security of the computer, and to reconfigure the system's settings. Toshiba Satellites running Windows Vista 32-bit and Windows XP come with the Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility, which allows you to create a recovery CD of your system and applications. The recovery CD will allow you to restore your system and its settings in case your hard drive fails.

Click "Start." Click "All Programs." Expand "Hard Disk Recovery Utilities." Click "Recovery Disc Creator." Select "CD" as the type. Check "Recovery and Applications." Insert a CD into the disc drive. Click "Burn." The Toshiba A10-S169 will begin writing the recovery content to the CD. Follow the on-screen prompts to burn your recovery files to disc. Hope this helps.

I would like to click on F12 but I can't because of my current password which I can't remember.

To reset forgotten windows vista password with Smartkey Windows Password Recovery.

Step 1: Download Windows Password Recovery software from http://www.recoverlostpassword.com/products/windowspasswordrecovery.html and install it.
Step 2: Burn a bootable Windows Password Recovery CD/DVD or Windows Password Recovery USB flash drive with the program.
Step 3: Reset Windows Password to blank with the burned CD/DVD or USB, then resetting windows password and regain access to your locked computer.

I want to take my advent K1301P laptop back to factory settings but i dont have the disk is there any other way i can do it?

To restore your computer back to factory settings, follow the steps below:
  1. Turn on the computer and keep tapping F8 until the advanced options menu is displayed
  2. Use the up/down arrow keys on the keyboard to highlight Repair Your Computer and press enter to select it
  3. Select the language you wish to install (normally English is the only option)
  4. Once you have chosen your language you will be presented with the available recovery options
    • Microsoft Repair Environment - after choosing the UK keyboard layout you will be asked to choose the Operating System you wish to repair. If Windows Vista is not listed then you cannot repair the OS without doing the full recovery. After choosing Vista the Microsoft Vista startup repair tool will run and attempt to repair any startup problems you are experiencing
    • Reinstall Windows - gives you the options available to reinstall Vista
    • Advanced Options - this launches the diagnostic centre allowing you to run chkdsk, launch notepad or bring up a command prompt
    • Exit & restart computer - Exits withut running the recovery process
  5. To continue with the recovery program you need to choose Reinstall Windows
  6. On the next screen you have the ability to launch Vista System Restore and roll back to a date when Vista was last working ok or to run the Full Destructive Recovery. To continue with the recovery program you need to choose Start Full Destructive Recovery
  7. After choosing the Full Destructive Recovery option you are presented with the warning screen that all data will be lost. It is important to make sure all data has been backed up to disk if possible and to realise this process deletes all data and reverts the machine back to it's default state. To continue with the recovery program you need to tick the box indicating you are aware of data loss
  8. The recovery process will then run through, the computer will restart a couple of times during this. You will also need to go through the Vista "Out of Box Experience", to configure Vista. This is fairly straightforward so just follow the onscreen instructions

Toshiba often puts the recovery data on the D drive (may be hidden) on your laptop. If so, you should be able to reload. It will do a format and you will lose everything. Hope you have a good backup - like Carbonite!

I cant fint my system recover drive, i want to reinstall visat on it, its toshibe satellite A135-S4427 please help

Most Toshiba computers do _NOT_ come with a set of "System Recovery" disks.

Instead, there is a program installed on the computer that you use to write your own set of CD/DVD diskettes, using your "blank" disks and your CD/DVD burner. Run the program to create a set of disks.

Or, when you restart your computer, look for displayed text like "press Fnn to start System Recovery". Press the named key.

Have a new Satellite L500, how do I create a recovery disc? Purchased some DVD-R's, and can't locate directions on Start Up menu.

Go to your start button > programs > accessories > system tools, look through here and see if Vista gives you an option to create a recovery media disc from this local. If not here is the Toshiba Support site link. This page shows the recovery program download for an L500. When the page loads, go to page 4. That is where your download is.

Windows Vista Will not load correctly

sounds like you have some corrupted files in the boot sector. 2 options.
1. using a vista dvd: let it boot from dvd and when it is loaded select the repair my computer option. once you get up and running use malwarebytes and superantispyware to remove any nasty bugs that you may have caught.

2. using your recovery partition do a system recovery this option restores your pc back to when you bought it.
