Question about LG Heating & Cooling
Hello, I have an LG Window Air Conditioner, model LWHD8000RY6 that has suddenly stopping working properly. When I turn it on, there is no power behind the cold air. When you put your hand directly in front of the vent, you can feel the temperature is much colder then the room you're in but there is nothing happening to force the air into the room. I have cleaned the removable screen so I know that isn't the issue. Help! And thank you. I'm having the same problem. If you are in front of the air conditioner, you can feel it's pushing some air out, but it's just not cooling the room, and it's not a huge room! It's 90 outside and 81 inside even though the unit has been on 70 (now I put it down to 60 to see what it will do).
Remove the front cover of the unit to expose the cooling coil. Put the unit on and observe if there will be formation of frost (ice) on the coil. If there's frost formation, the common cause is dirty cooling coil. Have it cleaned using an alkali base coil cleaner. If the coil is clean, then the problem is the fan motor. It might be turning slow due to copper loss. Have it replaced.
