- Thanks bob,
I used the cable from my fanuc mill to the lathe and it worked. A friend of mine rewired the cable ? I have several null modem cables. If I hook 2 together it works, but using a odd # such as 1 or 3 cables it doesn't work. I want to use a switchbox to switch between machines. I thought I could run the rewired cable to the switchbox and then straight thru cable to the machines. Is this right?
I used to work for harrison / clausing / colcherster and even have a couple of the cables you re talking about that came with the cad package included with those lathes. I cant remember the type (straight through or null ?) but could do a multimeter check if you wish. Its usually a 9 to 25 pin cable.

Installed the Belkin F5U220 USB 2.0 PCI card in my new Dell 546 Inspiron. Computer is running Windows 7. Boot up gets as far as "Starting Windows" and then stops with black screen, no messages. Ideas?
