Hi, there are 2 pumps on a dishwasher, it sounds like the drain pump on your unit is not working, it may need to be replaced. If it is in warranty, then contact the manufacturer, if not contact a local appliance repair company or you can try disassembling the unit to get to it yourself. In the mean time you can use a wet/dry vac to get the remaining water out of the unit.

Another thing you could try first is buy
some "Draino Gel" and place some of the "Draino Gel" (a good amount) in the bottom of the dishwasher. Leave it in the machine for about 30 minutes then run the dishwasher through 2 complete cycles in case somewhere further down the drain you have a clog. Let me know if you have any further questions on this.

Our sink and garbage disposal was clogged up. We got the sink unclogged, but the dishwasher had dirty water in the bottom and won't drain.

Your dishwasher drains into the garbage disposal. It you tried to use a plunger to clear your clogged sink or run the disposal with to much junk in it you may have force debris into the dishwasher drain hose. With both the dishwasher and garbage disposal disconnect from power disconnect the dishwasher drain hose from the garbage disposal. This is usually about a one inch black hose. Clear out any debris in the hose and inlet nipple on the garbage disposal. If debris is compacted far down the hose it will need to be disconnected from the dishwasher end and remove to clear the blockage.

Good luck!

Flooding in both drawers of dishwasher

I suppose "flooding in both drawers of ..." implies water is not draining out. Is that right?

It is a very little information to give you any clear solutions.

Did the water get into the drawers without starting any wash program? Most likely it is the backflow from kitchen sink back through the dishwasher drain hose. Does your kitchen sink plumbing have an air gap sowehere. If so, is it clear?

If the water is the back flow then it is likely to be smelly and you do not want to run it through the dishwasher. I would suggest take the drain hose out from under the sink downpipe and drop into an empty bucket. Then take all the fixtures out from the drawers and empty out water using a small container.

Put the washer arms back and run each drawer on a short rinse cycle collecting the drain water in the bucket. If cycle runs clear, then get plumber to check the kitchen downpipe.

Reconnect drain hose.

Hope this helps.

Dishwsher wont drain. never happened before. do not use dishwasher very often.

I would first check where the drain hose from the dishwasher connects to the drain stub under the sink. Remove the hose from under the sink and place it into a bucket. Close the dishwasher door and cancel the cycle to put the dishwasher in a drain cycle. Listen for the drain pump to activate. If water comes out of the hose check the stub where the hose connects under the sink with a screw driver to make sure the spout is clear of debris. If no water comes out of the hose, empty the dishwasher by hand using a plastic cup and when empty remove the hose at the pump under the dishwasher and check to see if there is any debris at this point. Make sure hose is clear from the dishwasher pump to the drain stub under the sink. You will need to place a towel or two on the floor as water left in the bottom of the dishwasher will come out when you remove the hoses. If still no water comes out you may have to disassemble the bump assembly. Not knowing what make and model you have I can't help you past this point.
I hope this is of some help.

Water doesnt drain from my blanco dishwasher at end of cycle

there are a few things you can do. First check your trap to make sure it is clear of obstructions. Next check your drain hose to make sure there are no kinks in it, or clogs. Also is it connected to a garbage disposal? If all else fails then worst case scenario is that your pump has gone out, in which case you need to schedule a repair.
