Question about Epson Stylus DX8400 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Hi,Marry Christmas ! I recently bought this printer(Epson Stylus DX 8400 ) without cartridge(Used printer). I bought anet set of cartridge and installed them;but it still gives this error message "Ink cartridges cannot be recognized" I'd be glad if u could help me in. yours, Salman Majd cannot recognize my cartridges either Every time a cartridge runs out and has to be replaced the stupid printer stops printing in every colour. This means that I have to do nozzle checks and head cleans - which also means that I end up using nearly all the ink. So, by the time the printer is working perfectly, I am nearly down on ink again !! I read somewhere (and this has worked) to just switch the wretched thing off and come back to it the next day !! This has actually worked - something about letting the cartridges cool down ??!
If ink cartridge Unrecognizable, there are two posibilities : Chip Error at ink tank, or printer error. For chip error, try to plug the ink tank to another printer (same type). If the ink tank recognized by other printer, so the problem is printer.
1. Check chip conector at head carriage.
2. Check the wiring of the head, and chip.
If two point above is ok, the last action is check the power supply and board. It may be epprom is damage.

It sounds like you have incompatible cartridges for your printer... Some folks have reported that disabling the Status monitor and turning the printer off/on, plus rebooting the computer can solve this but that's just something I've heard.
You may want to double check with the ink supplier that they have provided the correct cartridges for your DX rather than a CX model.
