Question about Rio Sport S30S MP3 Player

1 Answer

Stuck It is stuck on a display screen that says upgrader, and it will not respond to anything that I push on it. I have tried connecting it to the computer and trying to upgrade. I have also tried replacing batteries, taking them out and putting them back in, and taking out and putting the memory card back in. Also I have tried holding down the menu and enter buttons seperatly and together in order for it to go back. Since there is no reset button, I can not just simply reset the device. Please give me some help

Stuck on connect to itunes screen

You may need to reset. Important: Only reset your iPhone or iPod touch if it is no longer responding. To reset, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

My problem is a bit complex... When I tried to add a song to my device (I had 1.4 GB still remaining) it took a ridiculously long time "synchronizing" so I selected the "stop synch" option on my windows...

One thing you could try is plug it into the computer. Check one of your hard drive letters that is plugged into. It would be either c,d,e,f whatever. Right click it will give you the properties. Used space ect. If you do a quick format it will erase all the songs including corrupted ones and empty out the files. Often works.

My mp3 is somehow stuck on the "Back" button when closed

Try resetting the unit by holding down the RESET hole at the back of the player.

Hope this helps!

Zen V Plus stuck on video

Just hit the reset button (Under the power switch, you will need something to reach it with)

It will take a few minutes to rebuild the folders, but it should work fine after that.

Mp3 player has quit responding. it shows updating on the screen. however it is stuck on this. it won't turn off, play, and do anything.

Reset method will turn it off. Refer to your user manual or the manufacturer's website. May need a firmware upgrade also - available from manufacturer website in most cases.

ZEN V Plus stuck in deleting process

Possible firmware upgrade issue.
Reset first - located on side of player. If that fails, Creative actually has a step by step tool you can use at:,/?St=107,E=0000000000366987556,K=3577,Sxi=5,Kb=ww_english_add,VARSET=ws:,Case=obj(26219)

Stuck in recovery mode, never been used, screen states firmware problem . everything i have tried has not worked. Tried cleaning mode, reload firmware mode, noting. HELP

Stuck in recovery mode Zen v
Detach your player from the PC if it is connected, and turn off the player.
If the player stops responding, you can reset the player. To reset the player, gently
insert a thin object into the Reset hole located below the power switch.

2. Press and hold the Play button while powering on your player.

3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button.
It will display the following options:
Clean Up
Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.
Does not affect music files themselves.
Format (All)
Caution! Erases all content!
Save a copy of your player's content before formatting.
Reload OS/ Firmware
Caution! Erases your player's firmware.
DO NOT select the Reload Firmware option unless you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install.
Reboot Reboots the device.

I actually had this exact problem a little while ago with my Zen Sleek-- Booting straight to the Recovery menu, and only getting a generic "Harddisk problem" error screen any time I would try to do anything.
Booting straight to the Recovery menu
I decided to open it up to check out the hard drive to see what kind I would need so I could try replacing it. The data plug that attaches to the hard drive itself was partially unplugged. So, I pushed it back in all the way, put it all back together again, and turned it on just to see if something different might happen. (I had it set in my mind that the hard drive failed and I would need a new one, so I didn't expect anything different to happen) And to my surprise, it worked just like new again.

Before you go off and invest in a new hard drive, I suggest opening it up and make sure that plug is in all the way. Since you'll be opening it up in any case, it wouldn't hurt.

good luck
please mark the post with a fixya

you can try upgrade firmware
If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause."

Stuck on

Try pressing and holding down the power button for ten seconds. This should reset the player, and you shouldn't lose any of your songs or files.

The screen says "Upgrader"

Have you upgraded the software if not try that. Check your battery voltage if it reads around the 2. something voltage then you need to get that battery to its orginal capacity. I dont think you'll get your songs back. Does it have a reset button if so reset it.
