The QuickCam Connect is a brand of Web camera manufactured by Logitech. It is among the lowest-priced in the Logitech line of cameras, and it was developed to work exclusively with the Windows operating system. As a result, the Logitech Web site does not offer software that allows users to connect the webcam to a Macintosh computer. However, third-party software is available at no charge to enable you to use a QuickCam Connect with your Mac.

Plug your QuickCam Connect into an available USB port on the Macintosh. Navigate to the Macam download site, which is hyperlinked on the site or is available below. http://sourceforge.net/projects/webcam-osx/files/macam/0.9.2/macam.0.9.2.dmg/download Note: When you arrive at this download site, the application will immediately begin downloading onto your Macintosh. After the software has downloaded to your computer, it will automatically decompress and a disk drive icon will appear on your desktop. A dialog window will open in the Finder. The Macam application is pictured within the dialog window, and should be highlighted, then dragged to your applications folder. From the "Applications" folder, double-click on the Macam icon and open the program. Navigate back to the Macam dialog window that opened on your desktop after the application was downloaded from the Internet. Highlight and drag the "macam.component" to the "/Library/QuickTime/" folder. Use a simple video viewer to verify that the component is installed correctly. QuickCam Connect and iChat IChat is a popular instant messaging application that comes with the Macintosh OS. The software download that allows you to use a QuickCam Connect with your Mac needs another piece of software to be compatible with iChat. Unfortunately, this compatibility is not free. Navitage to Ecamm Network (see Below) and locate iUSBCam, a software application that will make iChat compatible with QuickCam Connect. http://www.ecamm.com/mac/iusbcam/ IUSBCam costs $9.95 as of January 2010. After purchasing the software, download and follow the installation steps that accompany the application. Help with installation and applications. http://sourceforge.net/projects/webcam-osx/forums/forum/145156

Try downloading this and using your Camera. As I understand it, there is no official support for this camera for Mac. This may work, assuming your using OSX.

How to install an icecam 2 in a Mac G4 with 1.1 USB port

Drivers can be found here: http://www.macally.com/EN/Techsupport/Drivers.asp

If you want to use the camera with iChat you will need the third party software called iUSBcam found here: http://www.ecamm.com/mac/iusbcam/

Side note, I have yet to get this camera to work in OSX 10.3.9, so tread lightly.

Running a Logitech Quickcam Fusion webcam on a Mac

EVERYONE:

There are two different QuickCam Fusions. The older one, like mine, is not UVC compatable, while the new one is. For this reason, the new QuickCam Fusion will work on Mac while the old one will not.

It is semi-pleasing to know that a developer is supposedly working on the old quickcam fusion support in Macam, but I'm not sure how long that will take.

Solution: Wait for that developer.

Mac not identifying camera

Logitech does not make a Mac OSX Driver :(

There are couple ways to get it working.

Try Skype, people have reported that this camera works with skype.

Try one of these. (They are not free so I would try Skype first)

Logitech to Mac

I had a search and found these Q&A's, so see if these can sort out your problem. Q. Can I talk/see to Windows users? A. Yes, there are video conferencing standards in existence, and if these are adhered to and implemented properly it should mean that Mac applications could connect to Windows applications - or even dedicated hardware solutions. However, at the moment, the simplest way is to use iChat on the Mac, and AIM on the Windows system. The results are nowhere near as good as an iChat to iChat link, but it works. Also, consider iVisit, Yahoo Messenger, SquidCam or ohPhoneX. Q. Can I use Virtual PC on the Mac to use MSN Messenger, and so talk to Windows users that way? A. In theory it might work, in practice I've not got it to work using Virtual PC 7 and a USB Logitech webcam. (Virtual PC will definitely NOT support the FireWire iSight camera). The USB camera required drivers to work on the Virtual PC, and installing them caused my iMac G5 to crash. Even if it did work, Virtual PC is NOT fast at this kind of thing and would probably not work very well at all with video conferencing. If you really need MSN Messenger to work quickly with video, it's almost better picking up a cheap PC.
