Question about Panda Antivirus Pro 2009 - 3 User for PC
Am uing an acer laptop. tried installing/uninstalling. Cant get it to open, get splashscreen then it vanishes. tried previous fix using PSROL.exe,to register, but just get error code 0001:0005. Have even tried starting windows in safe mode. Any suggestions anyone?
1) Download the Panda Security Utility and save it to your desktop
2) Once the file is downloaded, double-click on it to run. For Windows Vista/7 users, you'll want to right-click on the file and click Run as Administrator so the program has the correct permissions to uninstall the software.
3) When the utility finishes, search the computer for the file C:\Windows\RAVTC.tmp and delete it if it exists.
4) Now reset the Winsock catalog by following these directions:
Click on Start, Run
Type CMD and press Enter
On the black screen, type the following command and press Enter
netsh winsock reset catalog
Type Exit and press Enter to close the command prompt
5) Restart the computer
6) Install Panda software (this time it should work)

Are you getting the splash screen when you are trying to install the software or when you are trying to open the software after its been installed? If the software is installed and is closing as soon as it opens you may have symptoms of malware that is causing the services from Panda to stop.
I would run Malwarebytes on the machine first before you install your Panda Security to see if this is the case. Worst case senario will be that the malware that you have on the computer could also stop Malwarebytes from running as well, but its worth a shot. Make sure that you have Malwarebytes update first before doing a quick or full scan
