Have a Singer 11910000A and the bobber thread bunches up and makes a mess in the feet when sewing

Is it really the bobbin thread that is globbing? Check closely. Usually it is the upper thread accumulating under the fabric.

If it is in fact the bobbin thread, then the bobbin case is not threaded correctly, the bobbin case tension needs adjustment, or it is broken and needs replacement. There are web sites and YouTube videos that show how to adjust the bobbin case tension.

QUICK FIXES: Remove all the thread from the machine. Clean the area around the feed dogs and bobbin area. Oil as instructed in the owner's manual using ONLY fresh, good quality sewing machine oil (only 1-2 drops each spot). Install a brand new needle insuring it is installed correctly. Avoid using fuzzy, old, or bargain bin thread. Rethread: Be sure you raise the presser foot BEFORE threading the upper thread so it will seat properly in the tension disk--and check to make sure you are threading the machine correctly. Check that the upper tension is set properly (the factory standard is usually the halfway point between the high & low number on the selection). Test on a scrap of the fabric you wish to sew. Adjust the upper tension--either tighten to pull the upper thread toward the top of the fabric, or loosen to pull more upper thread down.

Here are some web sites that may help.

My casket where the bobber sets is loose and comes out. When I try to place the basket where the bobber sits it is too high and the lver will not close. Is that part broken or how do I put it in properly?...

I have a similar Singer with a drop-in bobbin and there is a little trick to getting the bobbin holder in correctly. When you put it in push it forward (under the feed dogs) then pull it back (toward you) before you release the spring that holds it in. Test it to make sure it doesn't come out then insert your bobbin per your user manual.

The needle wont stayed treadedwhile sewing. I have changed out the needle and changed out the thread and it keeps unthereading while sewing the bobber is working just wont stay threaded threw the neddle

My trouble shooting suggestions are:

check that the thread is in the thread take up lever eye correctly
Is the top tension set too tight, ie should be on 5
Is the thread catching somewhere in the thread path?
Is it catching on the thread spool itself, sometimes they have a little notch cut in the top edge to hold the thread tail but it could be getting caught in there during sewing. If so, turn thread spool up the other way or use a mushroom cap on top to hold the thread off the spool top edge.

just go through the top threading path checking thread is into all thread eyes correctly and not catching on anything and that it is threaded correctly, it should be one of the above causing this.

I have an old Singer 478 and I can't get the needle to grab the bobber thread. Is there a special trick for this one?

When you turn the handwheel, does the hook move? If not the top gear on the vertical shaft is stripped and needs to be replaced.

Threading bobbin on singer6268

Have you tried placing that half screw and or plug you found on top of the bobber compartment where it belongs: Normally underneath the bobbin compartment cover , at-top the bobbin case closest to you and your left..normally there will be a screw there to keep the bobbin and the bobbin case where it belongs, while it is doing it job.. at least thats how most of the sewing machines i have used or see or worked on have been.. Good luck.
