Roller Marks on HP Color LaserJet CP 3505

A set of the rollers that pull the paper into the machine are making dark marks on any paper that is thicker than text weight.
I think I have identifid the rollers that are making the marks, and cleaned the surface, but it did not help. It seems to happen because of the heat, as the rollers are close to the imaging drum. Any ideas?
Thanks for any advice.

    Hi Pennyrile,
To clarify: Yes, the  marks correspond to the pick up rollers. Where is the transfer belt located? Yes, it only makes the marks on heavy stock.

So the marks correspond exactly to the location of the pick up rollers? I wouldnt think it had to do with heat as the fuser is at the top of the machine, not the bottom by the tray. Is there any similar marks on the transfer belt when you open it up? And are you saying it doesn't do it on regular paper...only heavy stock?

I'd recommend doing a thorough search with a flash light. You also might need to do some minor dis assembly to find pieces of paper. Another suggestion is to clean the paper path sensors with canned air. Lastly check all pick up rollers and make sure they are textured and have no smooth or bald spots. #1 cause of jams is bad rollers.

Paper jam error code 13.01.00 hp 3505n printer

Turn the printer around and lift the flap behind the paper tray. If you have a flashlight, get it. You want to watch the action of the paper pickup roller. By observing to see if it is rotating, slipping on the paper or whatever, you should be able to determine why the paper isn't feeding. A lot of times, it is as simple as the paper backstop has slid back and the roller can't grab the paper that is 2 inches out of reach. Since you've replaced the tray and paper, I would think you might have noticed that. Is the paper moving out of the tray at all?

I have a problem with the colour prints...there are different kind of lines all over the page..how can i clean the laser heads?is there any automatically way?

Hi,
Dots, Lines and smudges on the printouts are due to deteriorating cartridges and cleaning the green drum of the cartridge may help temporarily. Take out the cartridge and gently clean the roller/ green drum with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth wiping off the toner dots marks/ lines. (corresponding to the location where you are having a green line on the paper)
Also, make sure that the visible inside of the printer is clean and there is no spilled toner inside, which sometimes results in dots.
Moreover, streaks (thicker lines) and dots etc indicate faulty PCR Roller which is located behind the green drum inside the cartridge. Replace the Cartridge or get the PCR Roller changed by a professional.
Try cleaning the toners and see if it makes any difference. You would also have an idea about the toner drum/ parts quality etc and check if they need to be replaced. Furthermore, issues with Laser Unit like dust/ toner dust on the lenses and mirrors inside the printer usually result in faded or discolored prints. For instance, faded text/ picture at certain areas or any color missing when you print.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

Tray 1 will not feed

Look at the tray 1 feed roller with paper in the tray.
Make sure that it is spinning.
If it is spinning, clean it with a damp lint free cloth.
Pull out tray 2 while you try to print from tray 1. Again make sure that the roller is spinning.
If it isn't spinning you have a problem that could be major.

Color Laserjet 3505 13.20 service error

There is a set of sensor flags on the bottom of the paper input unit (paper feed assembly). You may be able to see them if you take out tray 2, remove the toner cartridges, and turn the printer on its back. One side of the rod can get stuck, it will make it look curved, it should be straight. "un-stick" the stuck side (typically the left side) so the flags can move freely.
