Question about Whirlpool GEW9250P Electric Dryer

Whirlpool Duet Dryer not working

I am once again asking for help with my was wired wrong and blew a transformer on the main board. I bought and replaced the board...however the only thing that works (once the dryer is plugged in) is the interior light. I cannot get any of the lights on the front panel to come on etc. I looked at the fuse (was told to make sure that it was not ruptured from the center) and it looked fine. Ohmed out the power cord against the dryer and I had good flow...however once the unit is plugged in I am not getting a response....except when I open the dryer door the interior light comes on. Additional question...the fuse is known as a thermal fuse correct...and do I need to ohm that out too? Also would this fuse keep the front control panel from coming on???

I would say youwould save money by having a technician from a reputable company come and check the unit. you could have multiple problems from what you did when it was wired wrong.

One of the plugs going to the main circuit board melted. I bought a new main circuit board and main wire harness. What checks can I perform to make sure that the new ones won't just melt like the old...

A couple things you could check

Look at the original main circuit board and see if there are any brown spots on there, that would be a indicator of it overheating, look on the opposite side of the plug socket.

I am not too familiar with the dryer style, but if the main circuit board is down by the burner area or by the exhaust do a visual inspection and look to see if there is any obstructions or holes.

Dryer will not start when pushing start button it just clicks once

This sounds like a problem with the thermal fuse blown which is wired in series with the motor. Power to the motor is terminated when the thermal fuse blows and the motor cannot run. No dryer function works when the motor cannot run. Click on the link below for the detailed instructions in troubleshooting this kind of Whirlpool Duet or Kenmore Elite dryer problem.

Dryer interior light working, nothing else working.....

Hi, Was you able to locate the fuse?
It is located on the blower housing and it's white.
I should have continuity. If not, replace the fuse.
Please let me know if this helps at all or if I can assist you further.

Whirlpool Duet dryer does not run after power surge/overvoltage

Swb, unplug the dryer, remove the top by removing the 3 screws in back. Slide it off toward the back. On the left will be the main board. Remove the metal cover on the board. On the board you will see P1-5 black wire (L1 line in voltage. You will also see P1-2 white wire (nuetral). With a voltage meter see if you have 120V from that black to white. If you do, you have power going in, nothing coming out, replace the board. Now Im going on that fact that you have no display lights, the dryer is completely non responsive. Catriver
