The green timer light is blinking with no interruption on my WS-55859. TV will not power on after the reset button is reset or is disconnected from power.

Thats almost always caused by failed DM capacitors on the DM power board. There are 7 that will need replacement. There is a repair kit called the WS55859 DM repair kit which has the caps and the CD with repair instructions available from www.tvrepairworld.com

Green light flashing in the front ?

SLinteriors posted this on another page and saved me big bucks.

Here's a bit more detail:

The flashing green timer light after a lightning storm seems to be a very common problem with old Mistubishi rear projection TV's. A friend and I had the exact same problem.

Using this and other sites, I spent $36 bucks and a little time with a soldering iron to replace the capacitors on the DM board and got mine up and running (WS55859). I've never really worked on electronic circuit boards before, but the helpful advice at these sites got me up and running. Definitely check it out before you hire someone or replace your TV:

Repair Kit with instructional CD available at:

for under $40 plus shipping.

for the WS55859 model, which may be a little different.

Your power source seems to be the problem, replace the part (located inside the television) and the problem will be solved.

I have a WS 55859 and after power outage i got the green POWER light blinking. I replaced all seven capacitors 1000uf but i still can't switch it in? Any other advice? Rgds FM

If replacing the 7 caps doesn't work I then try to re-solder the small 8 pin ICs. Be very careful and try to avoid cooking it or leaving a solder bridge. If that doesn't work either you'll have to replace the DM-POWER board. You'll beed a Mits authorized service center to order the part. Goodluck.

MITSUBISHI DIGITAL TV WS-55859 GREEN LIGHT FLASHING WON'T SHUT OFF EVEN AFTER RESET. IT HAPPENED AFTER POWER OUTAGE.

This could mean the DM (HD tuner) failed. In the future connect your TV to a good surge protector. The manufacturer's solution is to replace the module and swap the memory from the failed part to the new one. (Except for the memory it is just an unplug one and plug in the new one.)

If you are handy with a soldering iron, you may be able to fix this by opening the DM module and removing 8 capacitors (as I understand the board) and replacing them. All 8 are 1000uf 16v 105C Capacitors

This URL has an good explanation of the process: http://www.hometheaterspot.com/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/137881/

I hope this helps.
