I have an OKI Data 3400n my friend filled the cartridge and it is still reading Black Toner Empty. What more can I do? I am having the same problem. However I also was thinking like jolilakame when he was saying how the RFID chips work and how the PRINTER keeps the counts. However I bought 3 sets of chips and found that the RFID chips were the ones that actually kept the count and NOT THE PRINTER. When I took a used RFID chip that registered empty in one printer and put the chip on a totally new machine (for the first time) the new machine registed the chip as "toner emtpy". I also moved the chip to different toner slots and experienced the same result. I even tried to cycle through the 3 sets of chips, and that one RFID chip that registed empty still registers empty no matter where I put it, or what machine I put it in. I don't know if there's a way around preventing a "write" to the chips. However there must be a FACTORY RESET that will clear the original "starter" count. Does anybody know what the "TEST" button does on the back of the machine (near the USB and LAN ports?)
Hi. I tear apart the printer and i found that the rfid unit is working at 13.56 mhz with a chip from oki mhm2045-00, i was unable to find the chips datasheet. i suggest you to buy a 13.56mhz rfid reader/writer and read an empty and a full chip to see the deferece they have and if you can clone a full chip and re-write the empty one. rfid reader/writer is very cheap at ebay.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Specifically on the Magicolor 5430DL you can print when a cartridge is empty, but this is disabled by default. To enable printing even with a toner cartridge empty.Press the Menu Button, then press the right button until the ENGINE menu appears and press the select button.Next press the right button until TONER appears and press SelectOnce in the Toner Menu the first option should be "EMPTY" if not press the right button until you see "EMPTY" and press Select. There are two options, the default is "STOP" pressing the right button once should change from STOP to CONTINUE.While the display reads "CONTINUE" press Select. You should see the message "CONTINUE is selected"You can now print even when one or more cartridges are empty. However, the lack of the cartridge's color will be noticed in any print jobs calling for that color... (Obviously)
The chip is not reusable and needs to be replaced every time. You should be able to find a chip on the internet somewhere. I own a Cartridge World printer cartridge refilling store and I do not recommend refilling your own toner cartridges or buying super cheap ones off the internet. The toner is generally such a low grade that it degrades your drum cartridge causing you to replace a $219 drum unit before you should have to.
I replenished the empty toner cartridge using the contents of a reduced price (from PCWorld) cx-OKI400l-is cartridge. For this you need a steady hand and a very small, very shiny stainless steel funnel. These are available from a good kitchenware shop. There is a removable cap to the cartridges. I understand one should only use the Toner from a cartridge by the same manufacturer as the printer. My old OKI OL400ex is now working again. I still don't have the answer to: Where does the excess Toner go? Does it fill up the printer drum?
Kedves Mindnyájatok! AZ alábbi hibaüzenet jelenik MEG AZ OKI C5600dn kijelz?jén Minden szín? tonernél. Sot MEG AZ eredeti sárga-NAL van. Chip cserével lehet orvosolni SEM a problémát. Most all new color laser printers employ an RFID reader adjacent to each of the 4 tomer cartridges. There is a unique RFID chip inside (under a small blue slide cover) each toner cartridge. Whan a new toner cartridge is installed, the printer "knows" such and begins a "countdown" of the number of prints that are made which utilize the toner in each of the 4 cartridges. Once a toner cartridge has "processed" the predetermined number of copies you will get a warning that the cartridge is almost empty and must be replaced. After an additional predetermined number of copies are processed, the integral computer within the printer will shut down the printer until the cartridge is "replaced". If you simply "refill" the same or original cartridge and re-install it into the printer, the same RFID chip is in the cartridge and the computer will not reset the print "counter", allowing you to start printing. You have to obtain another couple of new or "re-filled" cartridges (of the same color or black) from an outside source. The printers' internal computer does not keep a complete running list of all of the RFID chips that have been installed and used in the printer (maybe 2 or 3) and then then it is "1st in / 1st out" of the limited RFID memory of the printer. I have been unable to obtain a "Service Manual" for the OKI C3400n printer to determine how to do a "hard reset" of the internal computer. I know there is a way which would allow the "refilling" of the toner cartridges without having to buy an additional 2 of each color.
Check the little switch/door on the right hand side of the drums. This has worked successfully for me.
After replacement of a C3530 Image Drum, the message, "Toner Sensor Error" is displayed.
The plastic shutter in the ID is fully or partially covering the toner sensor window.
Move the cover upward to allow for the sensor to become fully exposed prior to reinstalling the drum.
First thing to do (if not yet done so) is to access the printer through the web admin interface by typing the printer's IP address in a browser. This gives a lot more information than the blinking lights.
The Status page of the web admin interface may say "toner low" or "toner empty" or "error on toner sensor" and that will tell us which color cartridge to handle.
Note that the OKI 3400n has the annoying tendency to fail when loading in a new toner cartridge: a color is low or empty, you put in a new color tube and then the printer says error on that very color! This can be fixed by pulling out the drum of that color (the drum is that entire block which includes the color tube and the container below it; avoid touching the shiny green roller), and lightly tapping on that drum to evenly distribute the new powder inside the container.
You may have noticed that the once the color tube is loaded in, what it does is to empty its content into the container below. Which means that it's no use swapping color tube once it's installed because the color tube is empty by then, and is just kept there to prevent the ink powder from spilling out of the container. The caontainer itself has 5 electrical contacts on its side used to measure the powder content and the lifetime of the drum.
When installing the C3300 printer, or when replacing the toner
cartridge, be sure to fully insert the toner cartridge into the image
drum, and make sure the blue lever is pushed ALL THE WAY toward the
back of the printer (fully locked position). If it is not fully closed
(locked), a "toner sensor" or "toner empty" message may result.
