You have to disassembly your camera for it, including the lens assembly.

Even if you have experience and skills in fixing electronic devices, I don't recommend it, since any particle of dust will get inside the lens and your camera, and will affect it.

The recommended place to perfom such cleaning activity is a Clean room (class 3 or higher), and have handy the proper cleaning tools.

Disassembling the lens is tricky and also needs a lot of patience and technique skills to do it properly.

Imagine that by accident a spring pops up a tiny metal ball (1.5 mm diameter) and you lose it in your home, then because of it, your lens will not work properly.

If it has warranty, I do recommend you to send it to cleainig to a professional repair and cleaning service.

If still you have questions or doubts, or need a cheaper quote for it (after get some quotes from local repair centers for comparison), you can contact the ebay seller Great_items_2004

Best regards,

Lcd display will not work on canon power shot sx10 is - camera will take pictures and i can review pics on the lcd display but will not show any pictures when trying to take photos. it started this problem...

Of course! You mentioned the beach so maybe salty water or sand got inside the camera. (Salt can interfere with the electrical connections inside the camera and possibly short-circuit.) Send it back for repair to replace any damaged parts you may need. They'll send it back good as new :)

How do I clean dust inside the camera? I noticed some splotches on my photos, then looked closely at the lens and it appears there is dust on the inside of the lens.

You can't clean inside the camera. Dust inside the lens would be so out of focus, it wouldn't register on your pics unless the particle was huge. Do these splotches only happen in your flash pictures?

Remove dust ccd ixus 75

Do these "stains" only appear on flash pics? Are they always in different places on each pic? If so, these are dust particles reflecting the flash back to the lens.

Dust behind lens

If the dust is inside the lens, then you are unlucky. Canon lenses (except for a select number of the L series lenses) are not dust or weather sealed. So each time you work the zoom mechanism on a inexpensive EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III lens, the mechanism is working like a giant billows allowing air (and dust and moisture) to flow through the lens and camera body. Sometimes large dust particles can accumulate on the different lens elements, but it does not have any impact on the quality of the photo

If the dust is creating problem fro your picture get it fixed from service center i will suggest you should not try to open it

Did you drop your camera? the lens mechanism might be jammed,Did you brought it from the beach? It might have some dust or sand particles inside the lens. Have You changed the batteries? The easy fix is to buy a new camera. Or trade up to Canon equipment that is easier to clean.

Canon SD600 lens jam

I followed the directions contained in http://www.avh.dds.nl/Fix-Canon-SD600-Lens-Error/ and by disassembling the camera and turning the rotor just a little bit (page 4 of the instructions), it freed up the lens and it is now working perfectly! The camera had been put down on the lens as the lens was retracting and I assume that jammed the retract mechanism. While the camera was open, I blew out whatever dust/dirt was there (didn't see much). The fix took me probably 20-30 minutes, and I am very pleased with myself!
