I got an 18 month old drier and would like to know how to solve a squeeking / squeeling problem - it only does in one direction and it sounds quite loud - it has always been a 'noisy' drier form new - the belt is ok and tight - The filters are clean - the difficulty is getting to the motor and tensioner device - i've got some technical knowledge but cant see a way to get to them please help andy and di Loud squeaking/grinding noise stared in one direction only, but gradually built up to all the time! Seems OK when cool though, ie when first switched on and cooling down at the end of cycle. Drier still works very efficiently but this sound is driving me mad! Any suggestions??

- Yes I rang for an engineer and he charged me £40 to oil the pulleys! Never mind, he showed me how to do it for next time, they are set into the dryer about 6 inches so a long screwdriver is needed to trickle oil onto the wheels. And no squeaking!!
hi,well if its not the belt, there should be two rollers in front of drum at bottom, they are wearing out or need oiled.as for getting to motor and belt, well not sure of model, but most of dryers, you will have to take front off of dryer, then remove belt the tumbler.you should be able to reach tension, and release it to get slack in belt. hope this helps. duane.
