Getting 5 blinks on Pioneer plasma means that there is a problem related to the power supply unit. Now the unit is in protect mode and it will not start.

Try first leaving the TV unplugged overnight.
If you are very lucky this will drain power completely, discharging PSU capacitors. This will fix the TV only if the problem was no real fault.

More commonly the PSU board must be tested and replaced.

The first thing to is contacting Pioneer, see details below:

As far as I know, on Pioneer plasma , a faulty Y sustain board would be returning six blinks. The PSU (power supply unit) is a different part, and a separate board.
Before replacing the power board a technician must read voltages out, to ensure that the problem is not the mainboard.
Try leaving the TV unplugged for few hours first, and give Pioneer a call to see what they say.

I have a pioneer PRO110-FD plasma tv with a 2 blink error code. What does the 2 blink error message mean

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Pioneer 65" TV Model # SD-643HD5 won't power up.

I would suggest replacing the board itself, chances are what caused those fuses to blow is still faulty. did you check those fuses again after you powered it back up?

Daytek DT4660 - at ac on , led grn for 2-3 secs, one blink red, pause, 2 blinks red, pause , 3 blinks red, pause ,then rapid 5-6 red blinks followed by repeat of above. I've unplugged the 12 volt connector...

Hi

I work on Daytek 4660 models. I have seen the problem you are having and have solved it a couple of times by replacing all the capacitors in the power supply. If you use an oscilloscope to measure the voltages they may appear fine, however I have solved this problem by replacing all the capacitors in the 2ndary circuit of the power supply. It doesn't always work, but has worked in about half of the TVs that have come in with this problem. Also, just to make sure, if you remove the shielding from the board that drives the LCD panel make sure the little smt fuse is good. It's right on the 5V power line close to the ribbon connector from the main board.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

I always found the problem to be either a combo of the x-sus printed circuit board and the y-sus printed circuit board. It is also very worth checking out your poer supply circuitry as well. Good Luck.

I would assume the power board has a problem. A tech could possibly repair it without replacing the whole board.
