Belkin F5D7050 - Problem with utility

Hi. I have bought Belkin G F5D7050 wireless usb adapter, but im having some problems with it. Each minute, connection restarts, when I play games, every 60sec i get "connection lost" , "there is problem with your connection" and similar stuff. I use vista 32 ... In installation manual, i found out that there suppose to be "utility" program with setup. After installation, all i get is drivers for adapter, nothing else. It wont install any utility software for me? I think that "utility" program might be able to fix it. How can i get it?! I have tried to download latest drivers.. Doesnt help. But can you help me to fix it somehow? thank you!

These wireless adapters are awful small with no cooling features. I think a component on the circuit board over heats, cuts out until it cools and comes back on. I bought a D-Link adapter and it did the same thing. I opened the case to help cool it so it would run a few minutes longer. I would touch it very carefully to see what got hot. Something under a sheilded cover would heat the shield, so I crazy glued a heat sink to that, cut a hole in the outside case and put it all ack together. It still gets quite hot and once in a while cuts out. A better solution would be a better until, but I cannot recommend one. Sorry See what you can do to keep it cool is all I can suggest.

Heat kills electronics and small components are very fragile. That's all I can suggest.

Ya, I have a D-Link and it no better. Now I have a noteook with built-in WiFi. That's much better!

Well, I would recommend you to install the version 2 of the driver that can be downloaded from the below link:

http://cache-www.belkin.com/support/dl/f5d7050v2.exe

I believe this would help resolve the issue.

Connection problems

1.Visit: www.belkin.com/support
2. On the top right corner, there will be a search by keyword, a small rectangular blue box
3. In that, type in: F5D7050 and press enter
4. It will give you search results, select the result that says "Drivers".
5. Select the appropriate version for your model. Belkin has 5 versions for the same model. Check for FCC no. on your device. There would be a table on that web page.
6. Verify, download and install

Belkin (F5D7050) 802.11a/ Wireless Adapter

I just noticed that it is a 802.11a/ . "a" wireless products do not work correctly and you need an "a" router to connect to. The "g" protocol is the most common and reliable.
If it is a new adapter, I would return it and get a 802.11 g adapter, not a USB.. they cost about $20.
