I am in the process of converting 200+ users from Attachmate Extra! Personal Client using 3270 LU's to Netmanage's Rumba Web to host, which requires 3270 LUA's running in the TN3270 service. I am running SNA 4.0, SP3 on Windows NT 4.0, SP4. My problem is that each user has specific entitlements on the host (of which I have no control), therefore I need to maintain my user-terminal associations. SNA server, while it does keep the list of NT logon/LU assignment, the TN3270 service in SNA does not force NT logon/LU resolution and the client attaches to the first available LU it comes to. I have already submitted a request to my tech contact at NetManage to see if they have a solution (via the JAVA script used in the HTML page), but is anyone aware of any possible way, through a plugin, an OCX or anything at all that I can force an NT logon to always use a specific LUA?
The common mechanism is the one mentioned by contention loser. ANother, very cumbersome method involves setting each LUA LU up for a particular port number, other than the default, then setting up a particular client to connect to that port number. One other way is to set each client up for a particular device name which equates to the name given the LU on the SNA Server. The client and server must support TN3270E in this case.
I think that's the sum total.

For each LUA assigned to the TN service you can restrict access to a specific IP address (or subnet). That way you could set each LUA so that it can only be accessed by a particular workstation...

That's one option, but I really need to be able to assign LU's to specific users instead of workstations somehow. Thanks!
