You can probably find outdoor blades at Home Depot, Lowes, etc.

There are ways to reduce the warping of indoor blades, but it's too much for most people. I'd suggest replacing them.

You could also surf the net for Hampton Bay stuff -- might be able to find them there, too.

Some of the fan blades on several fans are drooping how to fix? lost light in 2 of them?

What make/model of fan is it? Are they indoor or outdoor? Low end fans are made of cheaper parts, so remember, you get what you pay for. The only way to fix is to get new blades & maybe blade holders.

How to troubleshoot thermostat wiring?

I'm not sure if the thermostat is wired correctly. First, the thermostat is wired directly to the outdoor unit (compressor/condenser unit). It is NOT directly connected to the indoor unit. It connects to a low voltage control panel in the outdoor unit that sends a signal to your indoor fan/evaporator. This wire is called the fan relay switch and physically runs between the low voltage controls of the indoor and outdoor units. If the fan relay is bad it's possible that the unit runs continuously. To prevent destroying your outdoor unit there is a safety feature that prevents the indoor fan from shutting down while the outdoor unit is running. If the indoor fan did shut down while the outdoor unit was running than you would slug your compressor. That is, your compressor normally sees refrigerant gas but is instead seeing refrigerant liquid. That would not be good since this scenario would destroy your compressor. It sounds like a faulty fan relay. The actual contactor portion of the relay is in the outdoor unit.

Have an expensive Hunter indoor/outdoor pedestal Fan that stopped working. It just "hums" and does not turn. Please help.

With the fan UNPLUGGED, try to spin the fan blade with a pencil or something that will fit through the blade cage.

If the blade spins easily, there is an electronic problem (control or motor) that must be serviced.

If the fan blade is stuck or very hard to move, the shaft and bearing are probably dirty and need to be cleaned. You can temporarily fix this with a tiny amount (a drop) of WD-40 applied to the shaft where it enters the motor. Spin the blade manually to work the oil into the bearing. If the motor spins freely, the dirty bearing condition is verified. To properly clean the shaft and bearings, the motor must be disassembled.

A couple years ago I bought a Hampton Bay OUTDOOR ceiling fan... and the blade arms started breaking off shortly after the warranty expired....yes the fan "motor" is guaranteed for life but not...

How outside is the fan? The blades should be a plastic type material. They should not break just because of it being outside. Go to the nearest hardware store and tell them you need some exterior fan blades. Screw them in to the metal arms that connect to the fan and make sure you have all exterior and rust proof parts (screws, fan blade arms, etc). Make sure to tighten the screws good. Then screw them into the fan motor, tightly of course. These should not break. If it continues to break after replacing the blades, then it would seem as if someone or something is breaking them. I've been an electrician for 8 years and have never heard of this happening.

Fan is not spinning on outdoor unit

There would be a control wiring problem.Either the fuse is blown out, fan motor may be burnt out and blade is loosened.

Fan making noise squeeking etc

ok not sure which fan or country your in but here in Australia if its the out door fan, should not cost more than $1200  if its the indoor roughly the same depending on access , may cost a bit more for labour but ... ok fan only cost indoor $600 outdoor $450 to $800 depending on weather the fan blade is seized or not, if its seized then a new blade can set you back To the $800 buck mark including the motor
