Question about Samsung DouCam VP-D5000i Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

Got a brand new samsung d381 camcorder and when you playback recordings there are horizontal green lines across the screen and no sound, what am I doing wrong? or should I send it back as faulty? I have the same problem, but its not a Samsung. I have JVC GR-D72U. And when i record it looks fine, but when i playback the tape i get these horizontal green lines. This just happened recently. It was playing fine two days ago. Kind of odd. I am not sure if it was the new battery that i purchased for it, but when i tried the new battery it worked fine, and i put it away, but as soon as i came back to it after a few days, it got these lines. Cant seem to find the answer if you do please let me know

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR HEAD IS STUCK OR YOU NEED A DRY CLEANING TAPE RUN TROUGH. SOMETIMES WHEN U USE OLD TAPES THEY ARE DUSTY AND THE DIRT CLOGS THE HEAD. TRY A GOOD TAPE CLEANER

When we record we have a clear view and it appears there is no problem, however on any playback we have horizontal lines across the screen. I have checked to make sure that it isn't the tape that is used,...

It is one of 2 things, the video heads need to be replaced and the alignment needs to be checked. I have replaced many drum assemblies in this model and it is most like your culprit. I hope this helps.

Black screen in REC mode, bars across the screen in Playback mode

My advice is that you should by a DV cleaning cassette. Put this in the camera and run it for 10 to 20 seconds only. running the cleaning cassette for a long time may damage the head.
good luck!

Lines across screen on playback.

A Q-tip should never be used to clean a video head.  Unfortunately they can pull the tiny head out of alignment.  I believe this is your problem and the repaid may be more costly than a new purchase.

Hey,

I just started to have the same problem, 5 grey lines and intermittent audio. I the settings and i tried different tapes and No Joy. Then I tried to record onto an old tapes to see if the new recording would do it and the camera showed me a strange icon for exposure. I set the exposure back to 'Easy' and Viola, I recorded and the playback is now clean. Even old tapes play OK now...

The settings must have gotten wacked somehow. I glad it worked out, good luck.
