Try unplugging it from the console and the wall, wait about 20 minutes, then plug it back in.
Hope this helps!

The wii shut down by itself when i connect the usb back of the will HELP PLZ!!!!!!!!!

I had the same issue, but with an external HDD. Whenever I booted the Wii with the EHDD in the USB, it would turn on then off. I unplugged the EHDD, worked like it was supposed to. After the Wii went to the main menu, I plugged the EHDD into the USB, and it shut off. Sometimes it would take 20 seconds to shut off, but it did.

By accident, I found the solution. I had a bad power supply. I used a different power supply, and the USB issues went away.

Charges at home on a usb port but not in the car

Hi Carl,

You should check your car's fuses to see if the one that supplies power to your USB charger is still good. If you're not sure how to do this, you could try plugging a different device into it and see if it works. If it doesn't - you'll need to inspect the fuse or wiring. (you could also try the charger in a different port or different car to see if the issue is tied to the charger).

If the other device does work, it is possible that the charger has a built in fuse. If the charger is the type that plugs into your cigar lighter, you may find the the tip holds the fuse. The tip may reveal the fuse if unscrewed from the body or may require a screw driver to open the body. Either way, you'll need to ascertain if there is a fuse in it and if so, check its condition.

Sometimes, the charger needs to be aligned a certain way in the cigar lighter / power port (or outlet) due to the way some automakers and device manufacturers design the connections. Repeatedly remove and replace the plug in the lighter / port. Each time, turn the the plug slightly so that it takes 6 to 8 insertions to rotate all the way around in the outlet. This should provide at least one position that allows the plug to make the required contact in the lighter / power port.

Lastly, make sure that there is no foreign object / debris in the outlet, that the the plug fits snugly in the outlet, the the plug's tip has a spring pushing it forward and that the plug is fully inserted into the outlet.

Hopefully, one of these suggestions will get it working. Good luck!

Have sound but no picture

Hi

First thing to go is try a different television and a different video cable if still no picture is displayed on television (screen is blank) You seem to have a problem with the video output from your nintendo wii.

NO PICTURE
1 Turn your television to the correct video input channel. For many televisions, you can press the "Input" button until you see the Wii start up screen.
2 Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into the DC jack on the Wii and the opposite end is plugged into a working electrical outlet. Press the "Power" button on the Wii and wait for the indicator light to turn blue.
3 Secure all of the Wii component cables to the "Video In" jacks on the television. In addition, make sure the opposite end of the wire is fully plugged into the Wii.

My wii keeps saying a problem has occurred so eject the game and turn the console off and refer to the manual

First turn the Wii console power OFF, and remove the AC adapter's AC plug from the power socket.  Next, check whether the disc is dirty or scratched.  If it is dirty, gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth from the center to the outside.  Wait 5 - 10 minutes.  Then plug the AC adapter's AC plug back into the power socket and turn the console power on.  If the same message still appears, the Wii console may be damaged. turn the Wii console off immediately.  Remove the AC adapter's AC plug from the plug and visit support.nintendo.com for additional troubleshooting or call 1-800-255-3700

Wii wont turn on at all. checked all cords. everything is plugged in.

Follow these steps.
  1. Make sure you have power.
  2. If that doesn't work, plug your Wii into another plug.
  3. Smell it. If you smell something bad(you should know that smell. It ain't that pretty, eh?)
If YOUR WII smells bad or won't work CALL NINTENDO.

OR

Did you have any power issues recently in your area?If so, there might be a problem with the surge protector in your AC adapter.Unplug it from the Wii and the wall. Also, seperate both halves of it. Let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour. Plug it back in, making sure all connections are correct and strong (plugged in all the way). Then, try to turn your Wii on. If that doesn't fix your problem, try again on a different outlet. If you cannot solve this issue, contact Nintendo for more help from an NOA representitive. Try calling nintendo's support hotline, toll free:

Health and Safety screen is not showing.

I have done some review with a lot of the Wii problems and I don't think it is the modchip that is causing the problem.  There are many reported problems with unexpected failures of the Wii.  If you haven't already tried to, I recommend unplugging all the cables from the back of the Wii. let it set for about 10 minutes.  Then, plug in the power cord and the video cable to the tv and see if you get a picture.
I had to do this to ours after it wouldn't respond after a lightening storm.  We lost power, but after the power came back on the Wii wouldn't even turn on.  I thought it was damaged and was going to send it back.  We tried unplugging everything as I said above and it started working just fine after that.

Wii completely stops working after power outage

I just had the same problem as everyone else. I had a brief power loss and our new Wii system's power would no longer work. To fix the problem, I unplugged everything from our Wii and unplugged the power cord from the outlet. I let the system set for 10 minutes and re-plugged the power only. That did the trick. Then I was able to plug everything back up and we are now back to playing.

Supposedly, doing the steps above resets the Wii according to the Nintendo online trouble shooting guide.
