Please Clarify, does it say offline on the printer itself or on your printer driver. If it says offline on the printer itself, normally pressing the go button should put it online. However, at the age of that printer the buttons could be dirty/worn out, I have had control panels fail quite often as of late. If it is saying offline on the computer driver then that is a whole different set of issues and I would need to know what operating system you are running.
power off the printer. removed the network cable only. power on until it display ready. now print a config sheet or menu map. if it print without error then connect the network cable and print config sheet again. wait and observed. if it will start printing garbage then KILL the print jobs queued on the printer. after deleting all print jobs power off and power on printer with network cable connected. I hope that will fix the problem. by the way. was there any error display in the panel display like "49.4C02". etc.
hello, try to print a test page with the printer itself , in the users manual there should be a way to do that without connecting it to a computer. if the test page is OK ,than try to replace the cable and/or print from another comp. if the test page fails ,you can try to load a new firmware from the manufacturer site. good luck.
Hello, sounds like your drivers are messed up, reload them to the computer or the connection cable maybe bad. If neither of these fix then the printer is bad.
check and see if the computer actually recognises the printer. go into printer settings and see if your printer is listed. if not click on install printer.
Try disabling the print queue. In windows 2000 go to printers, then properties of the canon printer, advanced and select "Print directly on the printer". Also try printing from another computer and replacing the interface cables.
it's not checked
