Plantronics M175 headset makes crackling noises when speaking with it on and is not loud and clear.

The 2.5mm jack on your phone, that the M175C plugs into, is more than likely causing you the problem. The phone manufacturers do not dedicate a lot of power to the 2.5mm jack, so sometimes people have a hard time hearing you or you hearing them. If you are using a cordless phone, you could use a Plantronics CS55H wireless headset. This headset is intended for only one phone line, not multiple lines. The CS55H's TR1 plugs directly into the wall jack instead of your cordless phone. This eliminates using the 2.5mm jack on the handset that is causing you problems. The headset come with a one year warranty.

If the Plantronics CS70N wireless headset is plugged into the headset jack on your phone, you will need to push the headset button on the phone and then the call/control button on the wireless headset.

My plantronics explorer 350 is paired correctly with my iphone 4, but I can't hear anything, it almost seems like it's muted, only it's not.

After doing some research for your phone, I have found that Apple does not list the Plantronics 350 as a recommended headset for the iphone 4. The recommended Plantronics headsets for the iphone 4 are Backbeat 903, Discovery 975, and the Explorer 395. Here is the link for the Explorer 350 User's Manual. It might just be that you have an old headset that is not compatible with a new phone.

My plantronics Bluetooth will not go into pairing mode no matter what I do. I held down the call button and it does work. Are there any other alternatives?

Hello,
When you hold down the call button do you get a red then blue flashing light? This is pairing mode. (also the only way to get this headset into pairing mode) Make sure the phone is close to the Bluetooth headset. For most phones pairing a headset is done by
  1. Settings/Tools > connections > Bluetooth > On (your phone manual will have all the specifics but this is usually the buttons)
  2. Turn your headset on (on/on switch) and wait till the indicator flashes red then blue.
  3. Set your phone to "discover" or "add a device" which steps are usually - setup > connect > Bluetooth.
  4. Once available headsets are available select your headset. If it asks for a code the generic code is 0000
  5. A successful pair is indicated by a blue light and also a confirmation on your phone.

Regards, Tony

My Headset does´nt have dialtone, I was connecting to cisco phone 7941, 7970, 7911, and nothing, not work.

You can use a Plantronics S11 headset with a Cisco phone, however it is not the best compatible solution. To use an S11 with a Cisco phone, you have to make sure that you are plugging it into the handset receiver jack and not the headset jack. You will need to lift the handset receiver, set it off to the side, and then hang it up after each call. If you want a more compatible solution that you can plug into the actual headset jack and just press the headset button on the telephone to answer and hang up, then you would need one of the Plantronics "H-series headsets" with the Plantronics Cisco direct connect cable ( model 26716-01 ).

I was having this exact problem and as soon as I did this it connected. I only had to do up to step 3. I have the same phone and the same headset.

How to Pair Your Headset if it Has Been Previously Paired
With Another Device
1 Turn the headset off.
Slide the power switch off, then wait until the indicator turns red
and then turns off.
2 Turn the headset on.
Slide the power switch on. After the headset is powered on, press
and hold the call control button until the indicator light continues to
flash red and blue.
3 Use the commands on your phone to locate your headset.
For most phones, select Settings/Tools > Connections > Bluetooth
> Search > 2XXPlantronics. See your phone’s user guide for
more information.
4 When prompted for the passkey, enter 0000.
Pairing is successful when the indicator on your headset flashes
