Question about Dell Wireless Keyboard Optical Mouse w0147
My bluetooth receiver stopped working. It is plug and play and worked when I got it. When I plug it into my computer all my USB devices shut off if I have any plugged in. When I plugged it into a friend's computer it made their entire pc instantly shut off as if I had held the power button and forced it to shut off. I tried calling Dell since it is their brand but they kept leading me in circles since I don't have a Dell computer.
Sounds like an actual short in the connector. Or there might be a foriegn object in the connection. Actually look down into the connector and see if one of the contact surfaces has lifted and is across another. If so, you might be able to reposition it.
If the physical inspection doesn't show anything it's toast, buy a new one, they're generic. $5-18 at Fry's.
