SOURCE: defective sony vcd Model MHC-VX33

If it havent been use for a long time try dusting it and cleaning it first, sometimes dirt gets stuck on vital places which makes it go crazy. Hope this works. Please dont forget your rating for me as well...We take time in answering problems. Thanks

I have a Sony MHC-ZX70DVD unit, when turned on the display shows the radio working but ther is no audio output through to the speakers or headphones at all. Also the CD/DVD player woun't eject and all...

From Sony's Trouble Shooting site:

http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&externalId=C154211&fes=true&mdl=MHCZX70DVD

If none of this helps, I suggest making sure your wires are correctly connected from your CD player to the speakers. Also, make sure no exposed wires are touching, it should make an audible hiss if they are touching anywhere.
If none of this helps, then I suggest taking it back to where you got it, may just be a dud.

Hope you get it working though,
Cheers.

My stereo won't even read the CD-player cleaner. Where is the laser lens, so I can clean it?

You need to unscrew the Sony MHC-GX450 CD Shelf System where the player is located and pull the whole DVD/Cd assembly.I suggest you have it done by professional technician since the laser lens is very sensitive. If its not reading the CD cleaner it only means that the laser is worn out and needs to be replaced.

Sony mhc-gx450 cd player is not reading.I used a cd cleaner and d

First unplug the unit and press the power button to make sure all the power is out of the unit. Try to take a cotton qtip and clean the lazer lense with alcohol. after wipe it clean with a new cotton qtip to remove the film the alcohol produces. Do not use a lot of alcohol and drip it all inside of the unit though.
Also if you tried a cd-r try a real copy instead. Make sure your cd's are ok.
Good luck.

I have a Sony MHC GX470. It has been working great since I've had and the sound quality is awesome but since 2 days ago the cd player keeps skipping and it'll restart the song and skip again or it freezes....

I think grooves are dirty / clogged in sled section of lens mechanism. There is flexible wire between lens and circuit board and this should also be checked as it can be cracked or misaligned.
Below is exploded view of lens in MHC-GX470 and marked area to be checked or cleaned.

Sony mhc-rg330

Get a lens Cleaning Disk and put it into the CD Player, there could be foreign objects on the lens itself, these and other shelf systems all have one common problem... Dust.

Sony MHC-RG222 cd player broken

It is not clear from your post that whether this is functioning perfectly other than the sound problem, if it doesn't, change the laser pick up.
