Question about Canon i860 InkJet Photo Printer

1 Answer

My canon i860 is printing funny stripes on all colored docs

This just started happening recently. Any colored documents are printing out with 1/4" stripes that alternate light and dark where it is supposed to be printing solid colors.

I've run several deep cleaning commands and also cleaned the print heads manually.

Please help!

    Hi,

We're having the exact same problem and have tried all the various cleaning and alignment options. No dice.

Same problem - horizontal stripes in color print. But only on one of my 2 laptops. . I think my problem is related to Mac update to OS 10.4.11 on the problem computer. (the other one still prints just fine on Mac OS 10.3.9, and the problem one worked until about the time I upgraded to 10.4.11 Anyone else have this?

I have updated my driver, deleted older version software, switched from Appleworks to iWorks, and everything lse i can think of. I've taken it in to the Mac Genuis at the store twice (they're stumped too) I've archived and restored software twice.
    HELP!

my canon printer has just recently started to print pictures with 1/4 inch

stripes all the way down the picture, does not seem to happen on regular

paper, only photo paper. Any suggestions?? I have tried cleaning the heads, checking the nozzles, changing my photo paper and re-doing the printing preferences

Same problem as with the other correspondents. I print a fair bit of text, and each line of text is frequently bands of light text, dark text and missing text.

I have also been having problems since I updated my Mac to 10.4.11. I get a vertical stripe on the right side of every photo.

I have a canon i860. It stopped printing documents, but still prints color photos. I have cleaned and deep cleaned the heads, but it still won't print a document.

Firstly have you downloaded the latest driver from Canon's website?
Secondly I suggest you uninstall the printer, disconnect the data cable to the
printer, open the Printers applet in control panel and select File/Server
Properties and click the Drivers tab. Then remove any and all drivers for the
i860. Now run the installer and plug the data cable into the printer when asked
to. See if that helps.
My concern is that if the test page is good then it may not be a printer
problem but removing the old driver from your system as detailed above is well
worth while.

My Canon I860 has stopped printing any of the colors. When printing a color picture, the printing takes an extra long time and then only the black colors are printed.

To solve the problem follow the mentioned stages bellow:
1.Click start, then printer and fax icon
2.click maintenance tab, then clic ink cartridge setting
3. Select auto dedection or Black and colour cartridge.
Then cloge all.
Thank you.

Trying to print a mixed photo/text document, my i860 only prints the photo. All cartridges have ink.

This sounds like this is a web page with mixed text and photo with a colred background for the text. I think that the true color of the text is white.
Have you put the document into a word processor to change the text to a visible color?

Canon Pixma MP380 Copying problems

what happens when you make a copy from the glass (bot the doc feeder), or a print..
if this happens only when using the Doc Feed.
Look at the Slit_Glass, if there is drit on it, clean it, and try again?
Could also be the ink is leaking in the machine? clean the ink cartridges and where the Ink Cartridges are inserted.

One color

yep, print head needs proper clean, here it is.
OK, Canon will hate me for posting this.

1. Remove ink cartridges
2. Remove print head
3. go to sink or tub (stainless steel, not plastic type), pick up a roll of paper towel on the way.
4. Fold several layers of paper towel and place on flat surface.
5. Run hot water until HOT!
6. Turn hot water back to a dribble.
7. Run the dribbling hot water through print head, be careful not to wet the gold contacts.
8.When water running through print head is clear, place print head on paper towel.
9. Repeat number 7 and 8 until no colour shows on paper towel.
10. Gently DAB print head (DO NOT WIPE) inside and out with dry paper towel until dry.
11. I normally replace print head after drying, but you may wish to let it air dry overnight.
12. Replace print head in printer and install cartridges
13. Start printing.

I do this to all 4 of my Canon printers every 6 months or so.

If any colour fails to print after this process it means your print head probably needs replacing.

Canon MP730 stops printing midstream

Is the issue the same with a anormal text document or just with heavily colored docs? If the text doc gets printed fine, then it is an issue with print spooler and we might need to work on that. revert & lemme know
