Hi there.
Individual keys can be hard to find, but if you want to search for one or spares the best place is ebay!! just search for your model keyboard and see if there are any spares for it.
Fitting them is a fiddly job its simple enough as most keys sit on a cradle with a rubber spring in the middle and they just snap on. There is a possibility however that you may end up replacing the keyboard altogether.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

You can type without it by touching the gap, no joke ;)
I would suggest to contact the manufacturer or to buy a new one, if it is not a laptop keyboard

Letter fell off

The keys usually clip over the stem, take the letter R and carefully position over the stem and push down gently until you hear a click, if the key is in place it should be the same hight as the others. If the key is broken or won't go back into place the key or keyboard will need to be replaced.

Missing keys for HP laptop

You can easily replace those laptop keys, you will need to know the laptop model number, you can go to places like www.replacementlaptopkeys.com and enter in your model number, and when you get them in your laptop will be like new again, I have purchase three times for different model, and each time the laptop keys were very easy to install, but they also have videos on the site if you never done it before. My Acer One has lost the 'X' key. Can keys be purchased or would this fall under warrantee (purchased last January? Are keys easy to replace?

If the X key is just the X cover then yes, you can purchase them at a computer store, however they have have to custom order for you, when you get it just snap it in, it's easy. If you have lost the groove or if the elastic is broken under the key you would need a new keypad. You can find this out if you take a key off of another letter and try snapping it in the X spot. If they key falls off then you turn it upside down, then that means it is not sticking and you cannot fix it without an entire new keypad. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Missing notebook key

Hi,

Unfortunately, yes....You cannot purchase a new KEY.

If you have an old keyboard, or you can go to any of the local shops, they might have wasted keyboard.....And you can ask for a single key.

Use the below procedure to attach the key to our keyboard.

Thanks.

KEY FELL OFF

If you have all the components of the Key, it is eazy to reinstall it.

If you miss any minute component, it is not that easy to replace the popped key.

You can find some instructions about replacing dropped keys of Notebooks from the links below :

http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2007/03/20/key-fell-off-keyboard/

and

If you donot have the required parts of the key to refix it, I recommend you to contact any nearest Service Center and get the required parts or get the key fixed.

Hope this helps...

Two of the keys fell off. Its a acer aspire 3050.

the is an armature under the key that holds it evenly flat. make sure that is not missing before snapping the keys back in place.
If the parts are completely missing your best bet is to find a complete keyboard on an otherwise broken machine that is the same as yours.
good luck

Ntldr

First check your bios & make sure it see's your hard drive & it's setup correctly. If it is there could can be other reasons for the missing NTLDR.
Suggest you take you Windows CD and boot to it. If your CD does not boot. Re-start the PC & start pressing the F8 key every two seconds. This will bring up a boot menue. Choose your cdrom drive.
Once in the Windows XP setup menu press the "R" key to repair Windows. Log into your Windows installation by pressing the "1" key and pressing enter. You will then be prompted for your administrator password, enter that password. Copy these two files to you Hd. copy e:\i386\ntldr c:\
copy e:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\
Replace the drive letter listed above for your cdrom's drive letter.
Once copy has been complete re-boot your Pc.
If you still get missing NTLDR. Do a complete reinstall of windows. Your personal data should stay intact.
Please post back if this has not fixed missing NTLDR, there are more fix's that can be applied. I only listed the most common.
