Panasonic phone phone rings in office but line one is not working on my extension. When I try to use line 1 i pick up the phone press line one and it calls a number automatically.

Press intercom and dial 101, see which extension rings. That's 101

The extensions need to be added to the ICD group and given either an Immediate or some ring delay. It's fairly easy to tell because if they're not in the group the line is red and doesn't blink on incoming calls. By default ICD group 1 is access code 600 or 601(try dialing it on the intercom from any phone and see if your phones don't start ringing). Unfortunately, you need higher level access to modify ICD groups. It's either done from the programming tool, or a phone with a class of service allowed to make such changes.

If it's wired to a TA series cabinet, you can do it in 2 ways. On the intercom 40 picks up the ringing phone(s) in your group, and 41xx picks up the specific ringing phone. In a small office, 40 usually works fine.

What happens when you TRANSFER an outside call to that extension? If that works, you have Intercept issues which is handled with programming. If it still does not transfer, you have CF issues, started by a *710x command for both internal and outside calls.

This is probably something that requires a technician unless you're familiar with ICD groups. The lines appear on buttons and your phone probably lights with a solid red light to show the line is busy, but you can't pick it up. By default, ICD code 600 is ring group 1, but you have to get access into SYSTEM programming to add your extension to it. The ring condition, immediate, no ring, or ring delay x rings is also part of the programming.

Wow, this is your lucky day :-)

From each phone, press PROGRAM 99 and the INTERCOM or CO buttons TWICE, then dial 1-8 and STORE. (default is 2). You can now make each line and intercom different, or each phone (up to 8) different. After you finish with each phone, just pick up and drop the handset back into the cradle to end programming.

The feature is called Ringing Tone Selection.

Two of the above codes work for me, so let's figure out what you're doing. First of all, did you convert the intercom calls to ringing on all calls? If I have auto answer turned on, I can't pick up anything.

If the phone is ringing, I can use 40 and 41xx to pick it up. I can retrieve a call from hold by dialing 53x where x is the line number on hold (just in case you're trying this with a cordless or single line set).

By default, all extensions are in pickup group 1, but 41xx directed call pickup will always work if the Call pickup deny is properly set as you indicated

You are on the right track but the extension number is not " 0 ". There is an extension number associated with the operator phone just as your phone may be " Extension 101". If you have a display phone have the operator call you and look at your display for her/his extension number then when their phone is ringing, pick up your handset, dial 4 plus the extension number of the operator. To change the ringing on a prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is).
with the handset down enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED
1) enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming)
2) enter in #62 the screen should say day ring assn
3) press the line you wish to program
4) press the buttons for the extensions that you wish to ring (the ones in the right next to the handset)
5) press # when finished with the line
6) repeat steps 2 through 5 for the remainder of the lines you wish to change
The code for hold recall is #52
enter in your hold recall time in sec. and in a 3 digit format. i.e. 30 seconds = 030 a minute and a half is 090 and so on.

it sounds like the memory battery on the main board is no longer working which means that it'll happen again.

That's what happens when you plug in the system and don't program it. You need to review ICD groups.

By default, the phone connected to the first extension is the master phone and the only phone that rings.
