SOURCE: RCA Projection TV won't turn on
Ok you got you a Rca ITC222 I See ALOT of these things. To start the troubleshooting.. UNPLUG the set for a min of 30 min the plug back up. ( I have never seen this work) If the set stil fails to come on then you have a processor lockup. The first thing you can conclude if the light flashes is it is NOT a FUSE. THe sets processor has determined that a safety condition has occured and shuts it down to prevent further damage and fire. THe top cause of this include Horizontal output trasistor, flyback transformer and high voltage splitter. but There is about 25 different failures that can drive it into shut down. technicains have interface equipment that can read errors codes much like a car.
typical repairs on this set run 150 to 350... if you have to replace tubes...250 per tube +labor which runs 250 ... these set new cost 800 so unless under warrenty.. you got to determine if it is worth it.

SOURCE: RCA won't come in
This was happening to us also~We found a solution with help from this site. We replace the CP150 capacitor which was bad. We replaced it with a 25v (it is normaly only a 16v 2200 uf). It helped but was not the whole problem. We also had a cold soder joint on a capacitor in the main power supply (the board with the two large capacitors and two transformers, they are tucked far back). This is the borad where the ac cord is connected. Hope this helps.

could be power supply problem or high voltage problem. check caps in main power supply first.look for caps that have tops puffed up ususlly three or four.....

The rca itc222 is the technican best freind. WHy? because we make so much money on them because the break so often. LOL I work on 3 a day. The first thing from your description i can tell you is that it is not the main fuse. The processor of this set sees a problem and shuts the set down. Now the first thing you can do is to uplug the set for 30 min and try to restart the set. this has never work for me but it eleminates processor lockup possibilitys. Now as a tech then next thing i can tell you is that we have a special computer interface that reads error codes much like a automobile. There is about 25 different conditions or errors that can cause a shutdown. The most likely possiblities are high voltage tranformers called the flyback or the horizontal output transistors. If you a tech these are do it yourself stuff but in general this is not a tv for a non tech. tipical repairs run from 150 to 400 for this set
