to page, we press the "intercom" button which is either of the two bottom buttons on the console and then the very top right button on the console which is set up as the "page" button

when we hit the "intercom" then "page" buttons, it pages overhead to all phones in our office - we want all phones to have the ability to page out but do not want all phones to hear the overhead pages

How do you dial paging? Pressing a button or dialing a code?

THat phone can be on a few different systems, do you know what you have for a phone system?

Press Feature 59, if this is a Partner phone it will display something.

Your question states that you want to turn off the ability for phones to hear overhead paging.

Do you want to stop them from paging, or stop them from hearing the page?

If this is an overhead page, it pages speakers, if it is a phone page, it is paging a group of phones.

Please state exactly what you wish to have happen.

Not knowig the phone system you have, this may or may not work.

First we need to know what the group is that is paging, when you page see what it is calling.
    It should be group 1-4

From extension 10 or 11 (with a display)
    Press FEATURE 00
    Press the LEFT intercom button
    Press #502
Enter the group number that the button pages
Enter the extension you want to remove
1-assigned, means the phone will be paged
2-not assigned means the phone will not be paged.

    Feature 00 when done.

This will not work if the phone is on a Merlin Magix....

My lucent Merlin ETR 18D is not ringing at all on incoming calles. The lights are flashing, but the phone does not ring.

hello,
i want you to go your phone setting, press the menu, scroll to profile, select the profile you are using and personalize it.
however, when personalizing scroll down to ringing type and select the ringing type you want.
if this does not work, open the phone, remove the ringer [the ringer is a small metal touching the panel of the phone, read it with meter, if it does not read, change it and replace it with a good one.

How do you reset clocks on Lucent Partner 18D phones?

The partner phones are now Avaya. The system time is going to be maintained by the operator's console or phones at extension 10 or 11 (the normal programming phones).

To set the system time, do the following:
Press Feature 00.
Press System Program (Left Intercom button) Twice.
Press #103
Enter the time in 24-hour notation (ex: for 4:23 p.m. use 1623)
A display should appear confirming the time.

Press Feature 00 to exit programming mode.

There is more information on setting clocks on various systems at
http://support.avaya.com/japple/css/japple?PAGE=OpenPage&temp.template.name=Daylight

The manuals can be somewhat difficult to find online. You may wish to contact your vendor to see if they can get you another copy of the manual.

Keep in mind that if you are using Merlin Mail you will need to set the time different on that system.

Incoming calls to office cause all phones to ring in classrooms

Changing ringing on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11.
At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
Next press the left hand intercom twice
The display should say system programming

Press the right hand intercom once. The display should say Centralized Programming.

Enter in the extension number that you want to program.

Press the line that you want to ring.
A solid light on the line means immediate ringing
A slow flashing light means delayed ringing (meaning the phone will wait 3 rings before starting to ring.)
A fast flashing light means no ringing.

When finished with that station press the right hand intercom and enter in the next extension to program and set ringing accordingly.

Press feature "00" to logout
Hope that helps

I assume you got this fixed? But, Euro style is a Partner phone, and Merlin is a merlin...contradictory terms.
