Question about Kenmore 22422 Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Kenmore Top Load Model 110 Washer Floods out the bottom of the washer. Is there a sensor that senses when the washer water level is full? It seems to have failed, and water kept filling the machine, and the excess water was running over the tub and out the bottom. Caused a big mess.

Kenmore Washer Model # 110-24622300 works until it is full of water. Then it won't spin to wash the clothes and water doesn't drain or do anything afterward. I think it is the sensor which tells the washer...

Check under the slot that engages that switch and make sure the unit is flush with the underside of the top panel.
If your washer was spinning unbalanced, it is possible that it reached up and tagged that sensor. It will reach it. I fixed mine with super glue, but you may want to get another unit, if that is the problem.

Kenmore washing machine Type 111 Model 110 - 26492503 water over flowing while starting the cycle. Not stopping on the level of water required.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Overfilling in your washer occurs mainly due to two things: water inlet valve going bad and/or the water level switch. If the water inlet valve has gone bad it won't be able to shut off even when the electricity has been turned off. If the issue is with the water level switch then it won't tell the water to shut off and the machine will overflow as this switch is to sense the water level in the clothes tub. However, with that being said it seems that you'll need to replace the water inlet valve. Please rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

Washer displays "suds" and then "f 35" and will not operate? what is this code and how can it be repaired?

Hi,
Just tilt the washer back and prop it up with some wood blocks. Three screws are right on the front at the very bottom. Use a 9/32 socket to remove them. The front cover slides right off. The drain trap cleanout is right in the middle. Turn the large white knob counter-clockwise to remove it and clean.

Thank you !!

Error code F35

The F35 indicates that the main control board detects a problem with the analog pressure sensor (water level pressure switch) in the washer. This component senses and controls water level in the washer. This failure could be caused by a pinched or broken air hose between the air trap at the bottom of the washer tub and the analog pressure sensor. It can also be caused by a clogged air trap or a failed analog pressure sensor. If you are able to unplug the washer and pull off the top panel, you can check for the probable cause of this failure.

To remove the top panel, remove the screws on the very back of the panel that secure it to the washer cabinet. Pull the top panel back slightly and then and off of the washer. It is on the side wall just behind the expansion control board. You can check the air pressure hose connection and the wire harness connection on this component.

This component costs around $99.This information was based on the general description of the washer model that you provided (Kenmore Elite front load washer). There are several different models of this washer. I am not aware of other uses of the F35 code on the various models. If you intend to diagnose and repair this problem yourself, I recommend resubmitting your question with the full model number of your Kenmore washer so that we can verify this technical information using your model number.

My washer overflows. it wont stop putting water

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (110.########) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

(The 110 means that it was manufactured by Whirlpool, you also need to enter the 8 digit model number)

Also see the Whirlpool / Kenmore Service Manual for these washers.

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

It has testing procedures as well as a good description of how the washer works.

It sounds like a defective water level switch or water inlet valve.

See the following for how to release the console and cabinet on these machines in order to get to the switch for testing.

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=16&newsdesk_id=131

Basically, what happens is:

When the washer is turned on, the water inlet switch is closed allowing water to flow thru the inlet valve. When it senses that the machine is to the level selected by the water level dial, the switch opens shutting the inlet valves.

If the switch or valve is defective, water will continue to enter the machine.

The Whirlpool Service Manual has testing procedures (basis continuity tests with a multimeter) for both the switch and valve.

Washer is over flowng

Seems very likely that the water level sensor is malfunctioning, and not telling the water inlet solenoids to close when the appropriate water level is reached.

How can I fix my Kenmore portable washer 100.49722990?

Most common cause for water leak
is around the water level sensor connection, a small hose from the tank bottom rear, to the control panel, if loose or removed it is a small constant leak. if loose snip 1/8 inch off the hose refit and pull a zip tie around it tight

if it were the drain hose or pump, it would usually be a very large leak that increases when the pump is running and floods the laundry
