Time keeping Last month I got for my birthday Seiko SNAA61 watch. It looks great and I like it very much but the only thing I was surprised by was that after 4 days it was one second ahead of current time. Is it normal accuracy in time keeping of Seiko watches? - Mirek

Hi suliva,

If you check the manual of the watch you will see that error of these watches is +-15sec/month (depends on the movement and temperature of operation that you have) which brings your error inside the range. Don't worry. If you keep your watch around 28oC it will have min. error.
Cheers,

RzA

Clearly, it is faulty and has some type of parasitic drain. All watch batteries should last a couple of years. My Seiko last for about 3 to 4 years. Return it to Pulsar or a repair agent for repair.

I have a Melodies in Motion Seiko clock that is about four years old. It still keeps great time. However the face movement sticks about half-way through it's movement. Any idea of how to repair the problem...

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like 1 or both hands are hanging up on themselves or something on the face of your watch, look for a small watch repair shop in your area, or check here at fixya, bottom of page, click on repair service directory the watches.

How to set a month on seiko ska401

mcdevito75 here, The month you mean the date (number of the day in the month) your Seiko should show the day / date Here"s how.--- To change the day (Monday, Tues. etc) simply pull out the stem and turn the hands around until you reach the day, now push the stem in all the way, and gently slip your fingernail under the stem and gently lift the stem to it"s first notch or position, Seiko watches have a 2 position stem to make changeing the date, (number) easy so you don"t have to keep turning the hands around and around, with the stem out to it"s first notch or position simply turn the stem either toward you or away to change the date, (number) when done push the stem back in and your done.

Watch stopped while in hospital and now, although running again, has the second hand moving in two second intervals

Some Seiko kinetic watches and other self charging watches do this when the battery is low. If it relies on you moving to keep it charged that may explain why it stopped in hospital. Try giving it a good shake and see if it starts moving smoothly again

For sure it is time to replace that old capacitor and replace it with the latest solution that uses a Lithium Ion battery. Find a good experienced repair person to do this for you. I do this daily and I am a Certified Master Horologist/watch repairman.. Ron at TimelyWatchRepair.com
