Rimington ''Wet to straight'' straightners making a funny noise?

I bought a new pair of Rimington ''wet to straight'' yesterday, and have used them for a long period of time twice.Once the temperature has heated to the required setting, it used to let off a loud beep telling me they were ready to use.
Now, though, the beep has started to sound distorted, as though a battery is dying? Is there anything wrong with them?

I love my floor mate which I bought last year. Now it is making a funny sound and has a weird burning smell. I was told to take it to a repair shop but before spending the money I want to find out if this...

It may be the belt. Sometime the motor spins but the belt is not spinning with it. This causes the belt to heat-up and burn/melt. The burned rubber maybe what you're smelling and sometime make funny noise and hard to push the vacuum.

My brakes are sqeaking a bit when it's raining. Should I go and have it checked, or is this normal?

Thanks for choosing FixYa. Water and dirt can get on your pads and get caught up causing sqeaking. It can also be a bad break pad. It would be best if you take it off and check it. Consider getting flaps if you don't have them already to block water and rocks.

Put in in a dry place for at least 24 hours and then try it. Sometimes they just need to dry out.

Bought house. Inherited shop/vac. A bit old, but

If you are going to use the wet vac to remove water, be sure to remove the bag inside the canister first. Also, some wet vacs have an internal float that has to be installed, but that may not be the case with yours.

Brand new pump that i bought it from store and i installed myself but it makes a distinctiv noise. emerson 230 v 1 hp.

is it the water going through the wet end or is the motor making the funny sound?
If the motor is sounding funny then you may have a bad motor. if the wet end is sounding really noisy then the motor may not be matching the size of the wet end as far as the HP. make sense? if your motor is bigger than the rating on the wet end it is pushing way too much water it is will be very noisy.
