Hi there,

For WINXP OS:

  1. From the Windows desktop open My Computer
  2. Within My Computer highlight and right-click the C: Drive or the drive you wish to determine the capacity or available space on the drive.
  3. From the menu that appears after right-clicking the drive click Properties.
  4. The Properties window will display the used space, free space, and the total capacity of the hard disk drive or other drive similar to what is shown below.

SOURCE: Acer Travelmate 2300 memory all used

Disk space is not RAM.
RAM is a memory where operating system and software keeps their current state.
All disk space used is a message about the harddrive on your laptop.
You will have to buy bigger harddrive and change it (you will have to move or reinstall system) or buy an external USB harddrive and move some data onto it keeping the original system in place.

My pc wont boot up, led's 3&4 flash, I have renewed the RAM and the fault is still there, does anyone have a clue what the problem is?

Allan Cairnduff,
Below is the information for the 3,4 diag error.
Memory modules are detected, but a memory failure has occurred.
  • If two or more memory modules are installed, remove the modules (see your service manual), then reinstall one module (see your service manual and restart the computer. If the computer starts normally, continue to install additional memory modules (one at a time) until you have identified a faulty module or reinstalled all modules without error.
  • If available, install working memory of the same type into your computer.
  • The memory specs for this computer are listed below.
  • Type DDR3 Synch DRAM Non-ECC Memory Memory Speed 1333MHz Memory Connectors Four (MT, DT, SFF), Two (USFF) Memory capacities Up to 4GB Minimum Memory 1GB Maximum Memory 16GB(with 1333MHz speed memory)/8GB for uSFF only Memory

The OptiPlex 790 system supports up to 16 GB of memory in the mini-tower (MT), desktop (DT), and small form factor (SFF) chassis with 64-bit operating system. The maximum memory supported in the ultra-small form factor (USFF) is 8GB. The memory speed supported is 1333MHz DDR3 memory.
However, 32-bit operating systems can only use maximum 4GB memory address space. Certain components within the computer require address space in the 4GB range, any address space reserved for these components cannot be used by computer memory the amount of memory available to the operating system is less than 4GB.
    NOTE:
Memory modules should be installed in pairs of matched memory size, speed, and technology. If the memory modules are not installed in matched pairs, the computer will continue to operate, but with a slight reduction in performance.
    NOTE:
The total amount of available memory will be less than 4GB. The amount less depends on the actual system configuration. To fully utilize 4GB or more of memory requires a 64-bit enabled processor and 64-bit operating system Thank You,

Tablet claims to be out of memory but uninstalling apps doesn't free up any space. Even with 32GB SD card is says not enough room for new apps.

Memory in this case doesn't refer to the memory in your SD card, but in the phone or tablet itself. Biggest culprit is photos and music.

Uninstalling apps should free up space. Reboot phone after removing items to record the true memory available.

My nokia 7210 supernova phohe work is very slow how can i use fast

I think you device is slow because you have exhausted or about to exhaust the available memory space. Increase the amount of memory spaces available (both on the phone and any other external storage device) by deleting or backing up some of your files. And be sure you phone is not affected with any virus because that can also affect it.

there must be a hardware problem in the card, there are so much duplicate cards which can be used for a few days so beware of that kind of cards.

I have installed an extra 1G memory but it has not

Open "My Computer".
Right-mouse-click on the 'C:' drive.
Click 'Properties'.
A pie-chart will display, showing how much disk-space is "used"
and how much is "available".
Probably, the "available" pie-slice is less than 5% of the whole pie.

What Windows did was to "expand" the "paging" file, making it 1GB larger than it was before you added the RAM. So, the amount of "used" space on your C: drive is now 1GB _more_ than before.

So, burn some CD/DVD disks with some of your files,
and then delete the files, after checking that the disks are readable, to make more "free" space on your 'C:' drive.

My printer is printing slowly

Print speed can be affected by three important factors:
Available computer RAM
Available computer hard drive space
The HP All-in-One product paper sensor
Follow the steps below the ensure the computer is operating properly.

Step one: Verifying the amount of RAM
Verify the amount of RAM installed in the computer.
Determine the amount of memory currently in use by background programs or processes.
Programs/processes will run in the background even when no applications are running. Most of these programs/processes will be indicated by an icon in the lower right corner next to the time.
Less memory available for applications will result is slower processing time and consequently, printing speed.
To determine processes running in Windows 2000/XP , do the following:
Press Ctrl , Alt , and Delete simultaneously and then release.
From the Windows Security box, select Task Manager.
Click the Processes tab to view all running processes.
Click the Performance tab to view the total and available amount of memory.
To determine processes running in Windows 98 , do the following:
Open the Device Manager .
Click the Performance tab.
The available system resources will display as a percentage.
Turn off unnecessary background processes.
This will free up system resources and increase printing speed.
To turn off processes in Windows 98/ME/XP , do the following:
Click Start , Run , and type msconfig.
From the System Configuration Utility, click the Startup tab.
Determine what processes are unnecessary and remove the checkmark those items.

Step two: Verifying the amount of hard drive space
Follow the steps below to determine the amount of hard drive space on the main drive.
Open My Computer , right-click the C drive, and then click Properties .
This will display a chart along with the total hard drive space, used space, and available space.
Verify that there is at least 2-3 GB of hard drive space available.
The computer will require at least this amount to process printing data for simple text files, more for image files. The lower the amount of available hard drive space, will greater the time to process print data.
Step three: Ensuring the paper sensor is clean and not damaged
The all-in-one product paper sensor plays an important role in determining the print speed.
Printing a self-test or demo page will ensure that the paper sensor is in proper working condition. If the page completes in less than 40 seconds, the sensor is working correctly.
Even if the sensor is working correctly, the printer driver might need to have the paper sensor turned off. To turn off the sensor, follow the steps below:
Open the Printer folder, right-click the printer and click Printing Preferences or Properties.
From the Properties box, click thePaper/Quality or Features tab.
Under the Paper Type section, open the menu and select Plain Paper instead of Automatic.
This will disable the paper sensor and increase the print speed

On the top screen where it says the amount of shots left for a sequence, it says FL

FL means that the full amount of space on the card is available...it doesn't give you an amount like say the d70 which says you have , say, 1.1K available of space...the d21x goes in reverse and starts counting how many pics you have taken...the FL becomes a number at 99 and goes down from there depending on how many pics you take.So you then end up with a number on top instead of FL and a number below indicating how many pics you have taken.

Hope this helps.
