Cobra 142 gtl

Power decreases as I go up in frequency. normal 40 channels

Are you sure that you're on the AM mode? It sounds more like you're on LSB or USB. If you are on AM, the problem may be the power control (VR6) inside the radio.

SOURCE: Cobra 148 won't stay on frequency, same frequency on all channels

If you have a frequency counter, and a set of TV repair tools,( a set of special screwdrivers) You can tune the transmit on it. I would not do this unless you are skilled in such things.

The easy thing to do is take it to a cb shop. Usually you can find them at truck stops. They usually charge $30 for an alignment.

If you think you can handle it, I can try to talk you through it.

Hi there, my cobra 200 gtl dx wont transmit on some frequencies. looses a few channels on each bank. It receives on all channels. This problem is intermittent. any ideas?

You watch this video and check your power output specially on those channel at chich not transmitting, if there is no power at those channel it mean that you program out of range radio band frequency, so you check your frequency and correct it.

Cobra 142 off frequency on all 40 channels by 2channels

unless you have a frequency counter,other than the radios,and a signal generator you should not even attempt to fix it.

My cobra 142 gtl loses power about two minutes after keying the mic.

it looks like the output stage is going hot (99%)

maby the swr is high end eficiancy is low

usualy on ssb the power is higher than on am

Radio is a cobra 142 gtl s/b turned on switch and no power, check fuse is ok.

Low dead key on my radio

If it is a 142 GTL your A.M. power is VR6 . Good luck and be carefull and DON'T get carried away remember AT YOUR OWN RISK NO LIFE GAURD ON DUTY!!!! You should'nt have any problems though......Dan
