Question about Dishwashers

1 Answer

Kleenmaid DW10 dishwasher has blown motor. Everything else works fine. Service guy said part has to come from Brandt in France. About 6-8 weeks but no guarantee if it will arrive at all due to Kleenmaid's problems. Any other time and cost effective way of replacing the motor?

Time and cost effective way = have the electric motor repaired. All an electrician needs to do is to rewind the coils inside the motor and replace the brush... you will save around 80% if you will just have it repaired plus, it would only take 1 week tops... :)

Cycle #6 take 2 hours, is this normal ? Pls give me a number for repair in Hong Kong. thanks.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry but this forum does not supply telephone numbers for service engineers; it's just made up of ordinary guys and gals, probably at home, with experience of addressing problems and helping for free on the web ;-0)

You will either need to look in your telephone directory yourself (sorry again!) or find a suitable place from on the web. We would not be in a position to suggest service engineers.

Good luck,

Dishwasher will not start cycle.

OK so you have power, your door interlock switch is working, the intake solenoid is operating.

The issue is that the cycle does not start. This would indicate that your timer is not advancing. The timer tells the machine what to do, when, and for how long. It is not advancing and is stuck at the start of the wash cycle (fill with water). This is not a big issue as a timer is usually easy to replace.

I don't know what type of machine you have so I don't know if is a mechanical or a digital timer.

If mechanical dial type you can simply tun the dial and see if the cycles change. If so for sure you timer is the issue. You simply remove and replace.

Digital is harder to check but from what you say it is most likely your timer.

Shut the breaker off.

Remove the screws from the door frame and from inside the door. Gently remove the control panel. The timer is a simple unit to remove. Unscrew it and disconnect the power supply. Go get a new one from your local parts supplier. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Hope this helps, if so please rate this answer.

How to replace a kleenmaid brandt dishwasher door handle

Go to www.espares.co.uk

Look for "Dishwasher Door Handle Opening Pedal" - Genuine spare part for select Blomberg and Hygena dishwashers.

This is the part you need for a Kleenmaid/Brandt DW3 dishwasher.
