J2 560 Retail Sytems Touch screen sometimes goes to sleep and cannot be woken by touch screen/keyboard. The only way seems to be by turning of at the mains (switch does not work) and rebooting system. Is there a simple answer?

There are a couple of solutions, you may not like any of them:

1) get new touch screen :D
2) Check to see if there are any updates to the software / os for the system / drivers
3) Disable, or extend the sleep timer

These are about as simple as it gets, more in-depth solutions may be available, but i would need more information.

i.e.
Software / os versions
model number / manufacturer
system hardware information

Ipod touch screen is unresponsive but it makes sounds like normal

Fix an Unresponsive Ipod Screen
Many of today's electronic devices including cell phones, music players and portable game systems have a touch screen.
When a touch screen fails, it does not respond when you tap it with your finger or a stylus.
This can happen due to several reasons, such as a screen protector, dust or improper calibration.
You can often fix an unresponsive touch screen by cleaning it or resetting the device.
Remove the plastic touch screen protector sheet.
Some protector sheets are too thick and prevent the touch screen from responding to your touch. If you must use a protector screen, only use one that is licensed for your specific device.
Wipe the screen with a soft microfiber cloth.
Clean off any dirt, dust or fingerprints on the screen.

Dry your hands thoroughly.
The touch screen will not respond if your hands are wet.
Reset the device.
If your device does not have a "Reset" button, remove the battery, memory card or SIM card, then reinstall them.

Delete any third-party applications you recently installed.
Some third-party applications can cause your device to lock up or freeze.

Recalibrate the touch screen.
Look in the device's Settings menu for a calibration option and follow the prompts.

Press the "On/Off-Sleep/Wake" button if you need to restart the iPod touch, and hold it until the red slider appears on the screen.
Slide your finger over the slider to turn off the device.
Press the "On/Off-Sleep/Wake" button and hold it until the iPod touch turns back on.
If you can't turn off the iPod touch, you can try resetting it.
Press the "On/Off-Sleep/Wake" button while simultaneously pressing the "Home" button when you want to reset the iPod touch, and continue to hold the buttons for at least 10 seconds, until the screen goes black and the Apple logo appears.

Reset my ipod 8gb touch screen 4th generation

Perform a straightforward reset procedure on your iPod Touch if you are experiencing issues like freezing, unresponsive apps, delays or other other problems. Carry out a reset if your iPod doesn't respond when you attempt to restart the unit. This type of reset will not erase any content from your iPod Touch.

Locate the "Sleep/Wake" button on the top of the iPod Touch. Press and hold down the "Sleep/Wake" button and the "Home" button simultaneously. Continue to hold both buttons for at least 10 seconds. Release the "Sleep/Wake" button and the "Home" button when the Apple logo appears on the screen, indicating the device has been reset.

I have an ipod touch and it is frozin and wont slide ?

  1. Clean the iPad screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
  2. Do not wear gloves while using the Multi-Touch display. Do not use the touchscreen with wet hands or immediately after applying hand lotion. Moisture affects touchscreen behavior in the same manner as it affects a trackpad.
  3. If you have a protective plastic sheet or film on the touchscreen, try removing it. It may be preventing the touchscreen from working properly.
  4. If that doesn't work, turn the device off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of the device for few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  5. If the device did not turn off, reset it. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for a least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If the steps above don't resolve your issue, please schedule a service appointment with an Apple Retail Store for evaluation. If an Apple Retail store is not an option, contact Apple to find out your best service optio..

Right side of i touch screen non-reactive

Perform the under given steps to troubleshoot the issue:

(i) Clean the iPhone screen with the cleaning cloth that came in the box with the iPhone.

(ii) If you have a protective plastic sheet or film on the touchscreen, try removing it because it may be preventing the touchscreen from working properly.

(iii) The current application may not be responding (frozen), press and hold the Home button below the screen for at least 30 seconds, until the application you were using quits.

(iv) If that doesn't work, turn the iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of the iPhone for 30 seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

(v) If the iPhone did not turn off, reset the iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for a least 30 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

If the issue persists then service will be required.

iPhone or iPod touch running iPhone OS 2.2.1 or earlier
  1. Press and hold the Home button for six seconds.
  2. If the device does not return to the Home screen, see the steps below to restart.

If the iPhone or iPod touch remains unresponsive, try restarting the device:
Restarting iPhone or iPod touch
  1. To turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
  2. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone.
  3. To turn iPhone or iPod touch on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

If the iPhone or iPod touch remains unresponsive after trying the above steps or if it is in a different state, such as showing a persistent Apple logo on the display, try resetting the device:
Resetting the iPhone or iPod touch
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds.

Wyse S30 power settings

You can check the settings in the bios (password will be "Fireport") I dont think there is anything in there that would trigger this.

Is there a screen-saver option in the control panel for the device? If so, see if it is set. If not, then try using the Wyse website to update the terminals OS to the latest. This will hopefully solve the problem. It might just be an incompatability with the older OS version.

Sleep problem

I've seen this on many Dell machines, and I've found no real fix for this. It seems that this function either works or it doesn't. You can do a restore back to a point that you remember it working properly, but eventually it will start doing it again. I've decided that this is a glitch with Dell's systems. You can also do a bios update from Dell's support site, sometimes this helps with the little glitch they pick up.
