Thank you so very much.  I hate to call a repairman these days if I don't need one.  They charge about $50-$100 just to make a house call.

You are going to have to call someone who knows how to replace the fan motor with the right part!
If the noize is coming from INSIDE the refrigerator then it is the evaporator fan.....outside the refrigerator, then it is called the condenser fan.

Why would a brand new fridge make strange noises already?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FFSS2614QS, is making a strange humming noise. Your new, high-efficiency refrigerator may introduce unfamiliar sounds. These sounds normally indicate your refrigerator is operating correctly. Some surfaces on floors, walls, and kitchen cabinets may make these sounds more noticeable. This could possibly be the compressor that you are hearing. Modern, high-efficiency compressors run much faster than in the past. The compressor may have a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Load knocking noise

these high efficiency compressors make noise when they are in defrost..you will sometimes hear water running, or tapping noise or even a popping noise. if it happens when its off in defrost.. it will only happen three or four times per day as this is the defrost frequency and nothing can be done without securing the heat exchanger to the suction line ..sometimes these come loose...

Refrigerator making noise like ball bouncing

No. This is not a great deal. Your compressor is switching off at times which makes the sound, but it is a power saving technique adopted by the manufacturer. It is certainly not a problem.

Refrigerator Sounds Weird

The noise is caused by the bearings in the fan motor going bad. If not replaced soon, it will quit working, and could cause considerable damage to the compressor. Have a technician look at it.

SIDE BY SIDE Frig & freezer

hurlsdad.

Sounds like a noisy evaporator fan. Take the shelves out ot the freezer then take the panels on the back wall of the freezer off. The fan will be there. Then you will know for sure thats the source of the noise. When it is time to replace it...easy fix. (few screws) Here is an excellent source for the part..www.repairclinic.com. My favorite place for appliance parts.

hope this is helpful,
