If the pictures look normal when viewing them on the camera but have this color distortion afer downloading them to the computer it sounds like they are getting corrupted during the transfer. Try a different USB cable if you can or try downloading them to a different computer to see if the problem persists and if the same images are displaying the same problems.

Best regards,
Bob

Pictures will not save to the compact flash drive

Lots of questions to be asked.
Have you formatted the drive using your PC. The drive should only be formatted in your camera. The camera writes files to the drive which your PC can't.
Has the drive been subjected to any physical shock of any sort?
Could your drive have been subject to static electricity. They are extremely fragile and should only be carried in the container they came in when not in your PC or Camera.
Has your drive been subjected to extreme heat?
Has your drive been in contact with a magnetic field?
Does the drive have a the record inhibit sticker attached?
Is there a chance the drive was disconnected whilst uploading to your PC?
Is there a chance the drive was removed from the camera whilst it was saving a picture
Is the media cover fully closed on the camera?

Some of these could damage your drive for good. But I would recommend a full format in the camera before getting the drive checked by a qualifies tech. Then again, we haven't mentioned a possible fault in the camera.
I think this just about covers any user type checks. If they all seem OK then it's definitely a service agent visit.

Good luck with the checks

Nikon d80 will not take a picture the letter r flashes

your subject maybe very near that's why the auto mode prevents you from closing the shutter. R just stands for remaining images in the buffer.

JVC AV-56WP74 Problem

Yes, one of your convergence IC's have gone bad. They are located on the convergence board inside the tv and there are two of them. They are inexpensive and easy to replace if you know how to solder. Watch out for the JVC booby trap sensor on the dvi input card. Don't run the tv with the back panel off unless you have disconnected the DVI card from the main board. I would even cover the little sensor with black electrical tape. Then it is safe to work on the tv when it's open and on. Well safe for those who know what they are doing.

No Image on display screen

Does the play back show any of the pictures you have taken before? are you sure the little lens cover is opening? there is a shield that closes down to keep the lens protected from debris and finger prints. Sometimes they can get jammed and not open. Tap on the front of the lens see if it opens. Switch it to auto mode if its not in auto mode.

Dark pictures

Be sure that you are capturing images in the right shooting mode. For example, if shooting a night scene your image will be underexposed and dark if the image is captured in the Program Auto mode for regular photography, or in any mode other than Night Scene. Be careful that when capturing images, nothing is obstructing the flash.
