Error 13.20.00 on HP LaserJet P3015

It is most likely caused by a bad toner, or a sensor flag. Remove the toner cartridge, and you will see two sensors.

Check to see if the sensor flags are all the way back. Sometimes they look like they are good, but a slight lean forward can cause the error.

Place a piece of tape to hold the suspect sensor. Put the toner back in (dont print anything) and see if the error goes away. If it does, you found the culprit.

Remove the shield, and you will see the sensor, and most likely the spring got dislodged or bent. Use a paper clip if you need to pull it back up.

The spring should look like the above picture and the sensor should be all the way back.

The paper jamed comes on, there is no paper in the printer. i used a compressor to blow the dust out, i took the back off, the shaft across the inside back with 1 geer on the right and a couple of geers...

If this is only happening in one section of the printer, such as when feeding paper into the upper automatic document feeder (ADF), then look for an obstruction in that area. The ADF has page sensors in the roof of the feed cover that senses the page when loaded. This is a plastic fork-like sensor that is spring-loaded. Sometimes the spring pops of or one side of the plastic tabs that holds it gets broken. In such cases, it may think a page is not loaded when one is, or vice-versa.

If the jam error comes up only when you try to print from the lower tray, focus on that area:

1) Turn the printer OFF and unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer or from the wall and unplug the USB cable from the computer.

2) Wait 3 minutes to give it time to forget the error, then plug it back in and turn on the power. If the error is still there it is a physical obstruction or a jammed/jumped gear tooth, or something may be broken. Do the following:

1) Use a flashlight and magnifying glass to closely examine the shaft, gears and page sensor to see if anything looks out of place.

2) Turn the printer upside-down and shake while listening for anything that may be loose or broken, such as a spring or piece of lever, or foreign object like a paper clip, etc.

3) If nothing is heard or seen, remove the back door and reach inside the rear access area. Using your thumbs, rotate the rubber rollers on the shaft in whichever direction they will move, as far as they will go.

4) Replace the back door firmly, the try to print again.

If after going through all the above steps the jam error problem is still showing up, you most likely have a mechanical component that is broken, e.g. gear tooth, sensor, or spring missing. This would require service from an authorized hp service center, which you can find at Support online.

Spring from printer

it goes behind the paper feeder at the bottom you have to take out the piece of plastic that has the light grey slider on it which is fixed in place at the top you'll have to be quite firm when trying to prize the round lugs out of there holes located at either end at the top of the dark grey plastic paper feeder guide the one with lots of thin vertical lines on it top left. once out look at the back and you will see a circle with the same diameter as the spring then look inside near the bottom of the rear of the paper feeder and you will see something similar. its very tricky trying to locate the spring back into position i placed the spring into the hole on the piece i removed and then squashed it down using a metal ruler and then slid it back into position. you will know if it went back properly by putting your hand inside and pushing back against the feeder with your finger nails it should spring back and forth.

A sping from the paper tray poped out ..I dont know where to put it back...... the paper does not go up so it can be pulled and print and i hear click click .....model is Brother HL 2540 I have to...

You may need a paper tray, about $20.00, that spring goes on the left and if it's off the tab is probably broken. Look in your manual for accessories and you should have the part number.

Spring came loose under the roller

Hi niffieprinti:
If you remove the toner cartridge again and remove the roller (Registration Roller) one side of the roller has a gear and the other has a silver bar, well one spring goes under the gear on the left side and the other spring goes under the bar on the right side of the roller. The springs apply pressure to the paper against the toner cartridge so that the image is clean and dark. if you have any further questions let me know.

Original Loaded

I just came across this very same problem today on my L7580 and I found that there is a spring loaded bar that flips down and makes a contact. When paper is inserted it lifts this bar up and tell the feeder that there is a document. If this is stuck in the upright position then you will always have the "original loaded" message and have your issue. Mine had popped out of its alignment holes and I had to snap it in and the whole thing worked like a charm!!! I hope this helps everyone else with this issue!!!

Paper won't load

first this to do is turn it off unplug, take paper tray out and remove paper and clean the tray, take the printer and put it on it's side (the side where the paper tray goes and see if you get any paper dust to come out. other wise blow air into that area you will see a roller on top need to clean that.

Will not feed paper

There could be a small piece of paper or other matter blocking the feed. Try feeding a piece of thin card- simple load and eject don't try to print anything. Or Put a vacuum nozzle in the slot to suck any debris out. Come back for more advice if this is not the answer.
