Question about GE Profile JTP56 Electric Double Oven

1 Answer

F7 Alarm I have a GE Profile JTP56 and got the dreaded F7 alarm. After some internet research, and I found the schematic in the oven (can't afford a tech to come out right now), I came to the conclusion that with that alarm, I had to replace the oven control. So after realizing the part was approx 300.00, I grabbed one on Ebay, reputable seller, guaranteed to work. The part was new in the box and part # is WB27K5272, exactly what I needed. Well, I was able to install it myself and was thrilled to see that it worked! Up until this point, I have been grilling for 2 months. So, when I used it the first time all was well until about an hour into it and the lower oven control timer kept appearing like it wanted me to set a time for something. I messed with it and it disappeared, however the old part started failing this way as well before I got the F7 alarm. I have been able to make a roast beef and 1 batch of cookies, and awoke at 4:00 this AM to the dreaded F7 alarm again. I don't know if you can help, but it's Christmas, I need an oven, and can't afford to have someone come out. They want 75.00 to just come out and I have 2 kids I have to buy Christmas presents for. Any help is appreciated. I sure do hope to hear from you soon. Thanks so much, Holly Please email me if you have a moment and if not...Happy Holidays I built my new house 5 years ago & put in a new profile ge double oven. it worked a couple of years, i have replace the control board twice it actually worked for 30 min. both times. It beeps FO & alsoF7, I have to live with the power braker off on that one appliance, can you believe living like this, for the price we paid for this oven????? We are all having problems with ours, the same oven, why are they still selling these??? These should be recalls, fix it for us or give us a decent oven. If it was a car they would be out of business, what can we do?? We can post for free, then some **** is charging us for a solution to it, please, this is robbery

I thought f7 meant to replace the keypad that you had a stuck keypad. See if you can find your tech sheet in the control panel if it is a built in oven if it is a freestanding oven pull out the bottom drawer and look down there or on the back for the tech sheet . It will tell you for sure what the f7 means if you need a keypad call 877-262-1479 for parts and have model number.

Top oven doesn't heat.

We had this same problem in our lower oven and found the solution the night before Thanksgiving. With 26 people coming for dinner, I desperately need both ovens. (Turn off the breaker for the oven before you do this.)

My husband took the control panel off of the upper oven and found a wiring diagram. In the text, it said there was a manual reset for each oven in the access panel for each one. He opened the access panel for the lower oven and found the reset button in the middle of that area. He said it was a black circle with a red button in the middle. After reseting, we turned the breaker back on and everything works great!!

F7 Alarm

Holly, the info I have on the F7 states that it might be a problem with the touch panel, shorted matrix or start key. Try unplugging the touch pad ribbon from the main board and cleaning the end with an eraser. See if the error returns after that. Catriver..post back.
