I need the Konica Minolta Di470 ip address to connect the pc to print documents etc.

The ip address is provided by your it department if you do not have an it department then you can select an ip address that is not being uesd example 192.168.1.200 this lus the sub net mask standard sub net mask 255.255.255.0 needs to be put in the network section of the machine then you can go to the c: prompt on your computer type in ping then the ip address you put into the machine you should get 4 replys and no drops then you will also need to load the print driver for the machine onto your computer

2004 Emachine- when desktop comes up on lower right there's a flashing icon when clicked on says "Network Connections", Local Area Connection, Network Cable Unplugged, Intel{R} PRO/100 VE...

If the local area connection icon specifies as network cable unplugged, then the computer has not sensed the connection between the computer to the cable modem / DSL modem, please reseat the cable behind the cable / dsl modem to the computer. If the icon still shows unplugged, then change the network cable between the two.

If the issue still persists, please revert with more details lik the kind of internet connection used and the reason for reinstalling.

My internet doesn't work

Plug a different computer into your cable-modem or DSL-modem, to see if that computer can successfully use the modem to access the Internet.

Try a different Ethernet-cable between your modem and your computer, to see if that fixes anything.

Click Start
Click Control Panel
Click Network Connections
Under the "Local Area Connection" icon, do you see "network cable unplugged", or "disabled" ?
If so, connect the cable, or right-mouse-click on the icon, and choose "enable".

Internet no longer working, but internal network is fine.

i agree with all the above.. it's definately clear as mud how the network is designed and or funtioning. The machines connected to the wireless d-link router.. are they via cat5 inthe wired ports or wireless ? is the server the machine thats connecting to the switch and wiress router and modem? i'd say reset all switches modems routers and machines.. shut them all down.. then fire the cable modem, then the wireless router then the desktop switch then the server, the workstations and the one lonely wireless.. run "ipconfig /all" on all machines and if they aren't all sharing common ips and access, provide the results here for further investigation.

Network boot

If you just need file s from the other machine booting from network won't help you - that's just so you can reload the OS over the network.

You should just need to plug the ethernet cable into both machines (make sure you use "crossover" cables to connect them directly or use a router or hub if not connected directly.

-Then just go to the properties for "my computer" and click the Computer Name tab. Write the computer name down. TO access the other computer, go to Start/Run and type:

\\COMPUTERNAME

(not case sensitive)

Make sure you right click on the folder you want to share with the other machine and select "sharing and security" to open it up to the other machine.

Alternatively an external hard drive is a quick way to move a lot of files to another machine.
