no, i didn't enter the right model, sorry. it's actually TFX20DRA...but they model searches only find TFX20DRAAD and TFX20DRAWH. How do I know which one it is?
Also a friend gave me some tips...I took off the inside panel in the freezer and the top coil was a huge ice block. I defrosted it all, just put the panel back on and we'll see if the fridge cools now...if not, and the coil freezes over again, he said it's the thermostat?

Inside the fresh food compartment there is a defrost timer behind the control panel. There will be a small hole that you can place a screwdriver through and turn clockwise s;lowly until you hear the refrigerator stop. It should remain stopped for about 30 minutes. If not you will need to again turn it again slowly until it starts. If this happen the timer will need replaced. The part number for the timer is WRX9X489 This is correct providing the model you have is the model listed above your post.
Go to the link below and enter your model number in search feature. this takes you to many just like yours, they are same just little differences. Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Fridge and freezer are both set at 9 and neither is cold enough. my food in fridge is spoiling

Here Is a check list to go by that will help you isolate the problem.
1) Is there frost or ice covering the real freezer wall? If yes, then you have a defrost problem unless the fan isn't running .If no go to next step.
2) Is the fan running in the freezer?
3) If there is a fan behind the machine is it running . If you have as metal grate running up the back of the machine skip this.
4) Is the compressor running ? If yes then you have a sealed system issue, a freon leak. If no either the compressor or its start device is bad or the temperature control thermostat is bad, or some cases the timer is stuck in defrost
5) Check the cold control thermostat in the refrigerator, turn it left to rightm and believe it or not, bang on it a little. If the cointacts inside it are broken the banging could cause it to turn on

6) Locate the timer and see if its advancing

My freezer is not getting ice

If the freezer is not cold enough you may have a compressor problem. First totally defrost the fridge. then plug the fridge back in and check that the fan in the bottom that cools the compressor is working. the cold control can fail so turn the cold control to the highest setting and note if the compressor stops running before the freezer starts making ice. If the fridge just runs and runs and does not get cold enough to make ice you have a somewhat serious problem. the compressor can be replaced but it is expensive and you might be better off to get a different unit (new or used) that will work correctly. Most used appliance stores will have something that will work well and won't cost that much.

I have a GE GSS25WGMD BB Fridge. I have already replaced the Defrost Heater and Freezer Thermostat. The lower sections of the fridge and freezer are very cold. The ice maker will not produce ice and the...

First, when the refrigerator is running, open the freezer door and hold in the light switch so the freezer light goes out. You should be able to hear the freezer (evaporator) fan running. If it is running, then you most likely have a problem with the air damper. It is a motorized door in the very upper left side, back corner, of the fresh foods section. The door needs to be open for air to flow into the refrigerator section. If you place your hand near the vent holes at the upper refrigerator section and the freezer fan is running, FF section warm, you should feel cold air entering. If not, the damper door may have broken. It is not real easy to get at to replace, but that is where your problem may be. Be sure to check the freezer fan first, as a non-working icemaker may point in that direction.

Freezer fine /After power went out twice fridge not cold enough

In back of the refrigerator is a removable panel behind which is the compressor. Listen for a hum and a click. If you hear those sounds the compressor may have failed. Behind that same panel is a condenser where heat is removed from the refrigerating system. Make sure it is clean and check that the fan operates when the compressor runs.

could be due to ice build up jamming the fan. take back panel off and check for ice. if ice present the defrost system has failed. also on some models, the fan stops when door is opened. check door switch is operating
