I do not have 24 volts coming from the coil (I have 4V). I checked the pressure switches and the one that is located on a small copper line coming off the compressor will ring out and the one at the bottom of the condenser will not ring out

Check power on the 24 volt coil of the contact pushing in the contactor will not make youre blower in the house run only start the compressor and condensing fan on the outside unit. if u do not have 24 volts on the coil of the contactor that could mean a few things high or low pressure switch is open. which this sounds like the problem because you stated the unit starts but both (copper) pipes stay warm this may be cause by no freon in the system. see normally if you push that contactor in when the indoor fan not running u will get really cold big pipe thats called the suction line. check if you have voltage on the coil when unit is calling for cooling if not look at the schematic and ohm the pressure switces if there are any

thats your suction line low pressure switch which means there is not enough freon in the lines to safely run the compressor and pressures will need to be checked with freon gauges and the leak found. normally these switches don't go bad so don't bypass the circuit and try to run it. the high pressure switch is on the little line which shuts off the compressor when there is to much pressure and will let the unit come on when the pressure drops. th bigger line is the low pressure switch and opens when the pressure drops. you will now unfortunately unless epa certified and have freon gauges for the units specific freon will have to call a service tech.

Goodmans troubleshooting

Hi;
You don't mention the fan. It is at the top of the condensing unit and should be running whenever the compressor is running. The water is doing the same ob the fan does, removing the heat from the refrigerant . What led you to put water on it?

i would check fan speed. it's probably on high. you might be moving more air with new system. a dirty evaporater on old unit woud have gave you a larger temperture drop.

Goodman package heatpump blower motor contant running

check your themostat fan mode switch to see if it in on or auto. It should be in auto. If this does not stop indoor fan motor, (it may take up to 2 minutes for the fan to stop, preprogrammed shutoff in the thermostat and fan control cards may make you think the fan has not stopped ) If this does not stop the fan the fan control board in your air handler has a green wire shorting to 24 volt signal in the theromostat wire or the contact on the blower control card is stuck and will need replaced.

I had a power surge on my 15 year old HVAC residential Trane Unit. I can either have my insurance repair it or I can pay the difference to replace. I do have coverage to pay for Alabama state building...

13 seer minimum for new installs. I have seen ratings as high as 18 or more on
some units (410A systems)
I recently replaced my system with a 13 seer R22 system, since they are
more easily serviced and I am very familiar with them. Given the average lifespan of
a system before major service is around 10 years depending on model.
I have worked on Trane, Carrier, Intertherm and Goodman units and prefer the Goodman
units, as they seem to be much quieter running and are built in America.

I HAVE A GOODMAN MODEL CKL36-1D I'M TRYING TO FIND OUT THE SEER RATING ON THIS MODEL.CAN ANYONE HELP?

Your going to need to know the age of the unit. If its less than 5 years old, its most likely a 13 SEER. If its anything more than 5 years old, its most likely a 10 SEER. If its anything over 10 years old, its most likely an 8 or 6 SEER.

Remember, that a unit will loose an average of 1-2 SEER for every full year of operation. This is just due to age, wear and tear, and usage.

So, if its a 10 SEER unit that is 7 years old, you could say that it is about as efficient as something in the 4-6 SEER range.

Make sure the outside unit is running. If it is then you may need to get the unit charged.

Fan not running on Heat Pum

That does not sound normal at all, I have a Goodman Heatpump and the Fan on the Evaporator (outside unit) should run as soon as it starts up!
The only delay you should be seeing is when the unit starts, the fan in the AHU starts 5 seconds after and runs for about 1.5 minutes after shutdown.
