ok I see it. So I can just use the insulation or braid from a coaxial wire? Where can I get that fuse at for the future?

  • volcomschonk May 28, 2009

When you say braid are you talking about the copper or the silver stuff that goes around it?

  • volcomschonk May 28, 2009

    ok ima try radioshack.

  • volcomschonk May 28, 2009

Change the fuse to 5a 125v and still no power.

    Sorry about that..

  • volcomschonk May 29, 2009

What should I put the dial to on this meter? Im guessing either DCA(250m or 50u(250mV)) or DCV(125 or 500&1k)? Also not sure where to put the - and + wires on the meter. Not sure if you can read it but it says:

    Output DC1000V
    Not Sure what that is.
    500V DC /
    1000V AC /
    250mA DC /
    Max /
    -COM +V-(?)-A

  • volcomschonk May 29, 2009

Last post didnt come out good.

    ......Output...............DC1000V
.................................Not Sure what that symbol is.
    ................500V DC...................../
    ........____1000V AC_____........../
    ........[........250mA DC......]......./
    ........[..........Max..............]...../
    ...-COM.........................+V-(?)-A

  • volcomschonk May 29, 2009

This is what I get on the meter for DCV 500&1k.

    How do i read it?

When reading I connected it to the yellow and pink points.

Also what would be the best way to drain out the power?

  • volcomschonk May 29, 2009

If reading it correctly would that mean its 350v?

  • volcomschonk May 30, 2009

Just to make sure I have 3 different prongs to plug connectors into. But I can only find one wire(brown and blue). Do I connect that from one set of 3 prongs to the set of 2 prongs?

I tryed with the tuner GND plugged in and still same results.

  • volcomschonk May 30, 2009

I meant to say only 2 wires. The tuner gnd(single) and the blue and brown.

    appreciating the help.

  • volcomschonk May 31, 2009

We reconnecting everything do I plug the blue and brown wire from one terminal to the other. Thanks

  • volcomschonk May 31, 2009

    Here is some closer pics..

Not where that wire plugs into the tv at.

  • volcomschonk May 31, 2009

Dont know where this wire end plugs to.

  • volcomschonk May 31, 2009

Well not sure where it goes...

  • volcomschonk May 31, 2009

Well heres the inside of the tv. I dont know where the cord plugs to so I can test.

  • volcomschonk May 31, 2009

    Ok,found out where it goes....

  • volcomschonk May 31, 2009

I have those. Its 2 blue and brown wires that go from the boardin the previous picture to this board up top.

  • volcomschonk May 31, 2009

When pluging in I get a spark.

  • volcomschonk Jun 03, 2009

I removed the capacitor is it ok?

  • volcomschonk Jun 03, 2009

I got 0 when testing but not sure how to adjust ohms.

  • volcomschonk Jun 03, 2009

when I turned the ohms adjust all the way to the left I get 15 and when I turned the ohms adjust to the right I get 0.

Just wondering but is it the flyback transformer?

  • volcomschonk Jun 04, 2009

I found a website that has all rca parts. Its in Canada so I want to order everything at once if its ok.

  • volcomschonk Jun 05, 2009

I want to order parts by parts. The transistor circled in green reads 17N80C3/ GAH451. The white one reads 100 (omega) J 1OW NS 0434. Here is a pic of the horizontal transistors terminal holes..

  • volcomschonk Jun 07, 2009

    Readings:

    17N80C3
    normal- 8 on the scale
reversed- starts at 0 and slowly drops to 2k

    White one circled in yellow

  • volcomschonk Jun 10, 2009

How do I follow point b path?

  • volcomschonk Jun 11, 2009

Never traced before but point a seems to go to pin 1 on flyback. there's a burnt pin missing within that path. posted pic post above.

p.s. I might have spare monitor for parts.

    Thanks for the help.

  • volcomschonk Jun 11, 2009

ok. The terminal missing solder is labeled .0087 UF 2000 volts. I assume its a capacitor. It reads 10 ohms and reversed 100 ohms.

  • volcomschonk Jun 11, 2009

I extracted 1 side and the multimeter doesnt move.

  • volcomschonk Jun 11, 2009

When the ohms reads 0 its good but if it doesnt move(2k) it is bad(no connection)?

  • volcomschonk Jun 11, 2009

Ok. Where is the regulator out?

  • volcomschonk Jun 11, 2009

Yes, reading from point a to point 1 on flyback is zero.

  • volcomschonk Jun 11, 2009

A to 1,5 and 6 all read zero. The rest read 5+. I was able to trace a connection to those 3 points but what exactly am I looking for along the way?

  • volcomschonk Jun 11, 2009

Checking with the multitester there is no continuity from the flyback to that point. Should I reconnect everthing?

  • volcomschonk Jun 12, 2009

    Is this right(pic). http://img193.imageshack.us/i/230553.jpg...

The red is the horizontal output transistor regulator.

    The yellow is Flyback.

The green is a regulator that im tracing to flyback to find regulator ic?

  • volcomschonk Jun 15, 2009

I think I found the ic regulator. It is marked LM393N and has 8 terminals. Also when tracing am I supposed to be checking for shorts?

  • volcomschonk Jun 15, 2009

I was able to follow a trace all the way to that transistor. here is a diagram.... http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/2135/boar...

Just to make sure. Extract the "capacitor" or the component up against the heat sink?

  • volcomschonk Jun 15, 2009

I extracted both. The "capacitor" read 0 ohms. The component attached to heat sink read 5 ohms with red on pin 1 and it read 2k with red on pin 2.

  • volcomschonk Jun 16, 2009

20 ohms with red in the middle and 65 with black in the middle.

  • volcomschonk Jun 16, 2009

Yes it is a coil. The part number is (220K FEC/ 18402). The part number of the one closes to the heat sink is (25808 970/ 18411101k FEC).

  • volcomschonk Jun 27, 2009

ok. The cap that holds the red wire secure to the flyback broke when first removing it. I tried pushing it in harder but still makes a sizzling sound and smell smoke.

  • volcomschonk Jun 28, 2009

yes it is shorted but I bought 2.

  • volcomschonk Jun 28, 2009

SOURCE: RCA MODEL D52W19 I PRESS THAT POWER BUTTON GREEN LIGHT FLICKS FOR

try unplugging the tv for a few hours. then plug it in and push the power button on the front of the tv.

it has something to do with this processor issue inside the tv....its pretty much a stupid thing.

should have been a recall because everyone has the same problem on here.

this is pretty much just a band-aid over cancer, but i've been having to do this for about a month now, and it works.

SOURCE: BIG SCREEN rca d53w19, where are the fuses????

There is one fuse if you look in the rear of the set on the left side follow the power cord as the cord plugs into the Main filter board which has the fuse. Its located right next to the power cord on the right side of that board

The capacitors known as CP150 CP120 and CP114 often fail which causes that symptom. You can get the RCA repair kit by that same name from www.tvrepairworld.com the kit contains the capacitors and the CD with instructions.

Rca d52w19 convergence hell

Did you replace the convergence board or the convergence power supply board? usually one color will be a problem with the convergence board and more than one color means the convergence power supply is the problem. Ebay isnt a good place for boards as you never know if the board is good. You can get the convergence or the convergence power supply boards at the following link along with free shipping and tech support.
