My Toshiba U205-S5057 won't charge when plugged in. I've tried two different power adapters. The LED light that shows it is plugged in will not come on. It will run fine on battery power, but now my battery is dead and it won't charge when plugged in. The last thing that went wrong was when I connected the laptop to a projector. A spark occurred at the video plug and the lap top shut down and rebooted. After that, it would not take a charge. Is there a fuse somewhere that might have blown? Please help.
The spark damaged possible follow component:
1) the fuser near the Jack socket on motherboard which is DC input fuser, change it as same current one if it is danaged
2) if the fuser at good connection, so there is a protect circuite failure which near the jack, but need to repair by a technician
most your symptom is occured like 1)
hope help you something fixed, please take a rating let me know how much helped you thanks! keep in touch your question

The adapter was plugged in at the time of the initial "incident". The computer was running on AC power at the time. After the spark, the computer rebooted itself and began running on DC power. At first I thought the power adapter may have been damaged. I tried with another power adapter, but no luck. It continued to run fine on battery power. Now that the battery is drained, it will not run when plugged in to the adapter, the LED light won't light up to show it is charging the battery either.
Thanks frankzjm. I opened the laptop but could not find the fuse you referred to. There were similar items on the motherboard but none that seemed easily removed/replaced. I discovered a burn pattern where the DC Power Jack cable connects to the motherboard. If the protection circuitry is built into the DC Power Jack, then perhaps I can buy one and replace it. Otherwise, I don't have the expertise to mess with the laptop to a greater exent. Seems like I will be visiting my local repair shop. Thanks for your help. I learned a lot.
did you plug-in adapter when spark?
can you turn on only adapter?
