Question about Mitsubishi VS-55705 55" Rear Projection Television
When I reset, the green light blinks consecutively for a few seconds then shuts off. I cannot turn the TV with the remote nor can I turn it on by pressing the power button on the TV itself. Cable box is connected and working fine. Help please?

I had the same problem with an RCA, check your sleep mode settings on it, it may have defaulted to 1 min, so it cuts off when it cuts on

SOURCE: Power turns off automatically
Same w/ mine. Repairman said they turn off auto to protect the set no matter what is wrong. Take it to be fixed. Mine was right at $100. Works great again.

Hi there, this is most commonly known as power board failure in the industry. the capacitors are blown. if you are experienced in inspecting circuit boards this will be helpful. you will have to disassemble and pull the power board and preform a break point test. the bown capacitors are easily picked out. they will be swollen and discolored. If you are not comfortable with disassembling this set, i suggest a service call. just tell the tech you are experiencing a power board failure.
